The Nurse Trainer is responsible for developing, assessing, administering, and revising training material for all positions in a clinical setting. This role reviews all existing training material, identifies areas in which it is lacking, and creates new supplemental material and training content to complement existing material. The goal of this process is to ensure that the triage program has adequate substance to determine whether existing nurses are adequately meeting job requirements and to equip all potential new nurses with the information and experience necessary to fulfill their new roles.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are important in this position, as these trainers not only create and edit written training material, but also interface with existing nurses at all levels to ascertain their training. As such, strong memory skills, close attention to detail, and high adaptability are all beneficial for the position.

 This is a remote position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop Training curriculum with full agenda
  • Coordinate training for all nurses and stakeholders, ensuring appropriate training assignments are assigned and the scoring is provided to the supervisor
  • Monitor for QA trends regarding new hires to improve training material
  • Participate in monthly QA calibrations
  • Communicate with new hires weekly up until orientation start date – to ensure nurse has internet set up and getting applications submitted
  • Train users on equipment, software and/or technology
  • Maintain a document of important things to remember when documenting/working with medical records
  • Follow up with newly hired nurses after 90 days to review the training and answer any questions
  • Develop Lessonly content and track nurses' progress
  • Identify and find solutions for performance issues both technically and in user behavior
  • Work with existing nurses that are struggling and need remedial training and communicate progress with the supervisor/manager
  • Provide summary updates to each supervisor following individual nurse assistance
  • Attend monthly staff meeting to stay apprised of updates/issues/team conversations
  • Occasionally answer calls when asked by supervisor due to additional help being needed to clear out the customer service queue
  • Additional duties as assigned

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in quality assurance and training programs
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to skillfully manage multiple, complex projects and competing priorities, while meeting deadlines and maintaining strong customer service
  • Effective quantitative and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment while functioning as an educator rather than an auditor
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 

  • BSN, unencumbered RN license required
  • 2+ years of training experience

 

PAY RANGE

CorVel uses a market-based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location.  Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors:  federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions.  Our ranges may be modified at any time.

For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.  The level may impact the salary range, and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.

Pay Range: $35.26 - $54.45 per hour
