Department: Nurse Practitioner
Reports to: Clinical Manager
Employment type: Full-time, exempt
Schedule: 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week), Monday–Sunday based on business needs
Compensation: $100,000–$115,000 annually
Location: Remote; all work must be completed within the United States
The Async Nurse Practitioner provides patient-centered clinical care through inbox management, prescription processing, lab and diagnostic review, and urgent visit coverage. This role helps ensure patients receive timely care, safe medication management, and clear, supportive communication while advancing clinical quality and operational efficiency across IWC.
Working primarily in an asynchronous environment, the NP responds to patient messages, manages medication and refill requests, reviews critical results, and transitions patients to same-day or next-day visits when direct evaluation is needed.
Manage the Coverage Inbox, including patient questions, follow-up needs, and symptom-related messages
Assess patient needs and route messages appropriately
Collaborate with clinicians and other members of the care team as needed
Provide patients with clear, supportive communication, education, and next steps
Maintain timely and accurate documentation of patient interactions and care plans
Review and process asynchronous prescription and refill requests within the scope of licensure
Evaluate requests for clinical appropriateness, accuracy, and safety
Ensure all prescribing decisions and follow-up plans are appropriately documented
Help streamline patients’ access to medications while maintaining clinical quality and compliance
Review flagged and critical laboratory results and other inbound diagnostics
Determine and initiate appropriate clinical follow-up
Escalate urgent or complex findings when needed
Document clinical decisions, patient communication, and plans of care
Conduct same-day and next-day visits when urgent needs or inbox concerns require direct evaluation
Provide timely assessment, treatment, and patient education
Support continuity of care by appropriately transitioning patients from asynchronous messaging to synchronous visits
Provide clinical support in response to emerging patient-care and business needs
Participate in project-based clinical work, including critical lab follow-up and review of inbound diagnostics
Contribute to initiatives that improve care quality, patient safety, and operational efficiency
Work allocation may change based on patient volume and business needs.
60%: Coverage Inbox and patient communication
20%: Same-day and next-day visits
10%: Asynchronous prescription processing
10%: Just-in-time clinical and project-based work, including critical lab review, follow-up, and inbound diagnostic review
Active national board certification as a Nurse Practitioner
Licensure requirements: Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner licensure and prescriptive authority in a minimum of five (5) U.S. states, including at least one of the following: California, New Jersey. Additional active state licenses are preferred, with strong preference given to candidates licensed in ten (10) or more states. State licensure requirements are subject to change based on business needs.
Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience independently managing perimenopause, menopause, and hormone replacement therapy, including prescribing and titrating estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone
Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience evaluating, prescribing, and monitoring pharmacologic obesity treatments, including GLP-1 agonists
Minimum of three (3) years of experience autonomously managing a longitudinal patient panel, including independent diagnostic ordering, lab review, and therapeutic planning, without routine physician co-management except where collaboration or supervision is required by state law
Minimum of three (3) years of experience delivering synchronous telehealth in a remote, non-clinic-based, productivity-driven environment
Demonstrated ability to operate multiple systems simultaneously, including an EHR, video-conferencing software, clinical decision-support systems, AI scribe tools, and communication platforms such as Slack and Notion
Asynchronous patient-care experience strongly preferred
Ability to communicate clearly, compassionately, and efficiently in a written-first clinical environment
Strong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and attention to detail
Remote, virtual work environment
Reliable, secure internet connection required
Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use
Extended time working across multiple digital platforms
