Job Details: Job Location: Headquarters - Arlington, VA, Position Type: Part Time, Education Level: Bachelor's Degree, Salary Range: $30.00 - $35.00Hourly, Travel Percentage: None, Job Category: Education, ICA Language Services is currently seeking an experienced Norwegian Language Instructor to teach adult professionals on a full-time basis. Candidates with part-time availability are also encouraged to apply, as the project may involve a team-teaching/instructor rotation arrangement. In-person instruction at our facility in Rosslyn, VA is preferred; however, qualified instructors who are available to teach virtually may also be considered. Candidates should have at least two years of work experience teaching the target language to adult students on an intensive basis (4–8 hours a day). Job Details Period of performance: 10/19/2026 – 12/18/2026 Training days: Monday–Friday Number of students: 1 Schedule: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. ET (6 hours of teaching + 2 hours of preparation) Instructional format: In-person in Rosslyn, VA preferred; virtual instruction may also be considered Compensation: $33-35/hour for qualified instructors teaching in person; $30/hour for virtual instruction Schedule note: This project may involve a team-teaching/instructor rotation option. Duties Plan and conduct Norwegian language classes using a variety of teaching techniques to develop the student’s listening, reading, and speaking skills. Administer weekly quizzes and assessments and conduct other informal or formal evaluations of the student’s learning progress. Provide monthly written reports of the student’s progress to the supervisor and jointly develop plans to address any potential issues. Maximize the use of instructional technology and online learning resources in teaching to support independent learning. Adjust teaching techniques and approaches to the student’s individual learning style and professional needs. For in-person instruction, propose and participate in beyond-the-classroom cultural activities in the school and throughout the DC metro area, such as visits to foreign embassies, cultural centers, restaurants, and other locations that promote cultural learning. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a foreign language, linguistics, or a related field Minimum two years of full-time experience teaching adult students Experience teaching U.S. military students Familiarity with DLPT, OPI, and other government-administered tests Knowledge of the ILR scale Experience integrating instructional technology in teaching and assessment Experience using online meeting platforms for teaching, such as Zoom, Teams, or WebEx Norwegian language proficiency of ILR 4/4 or higher.    Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
