Job Details:

We are looking for a .NET Software Engineer to work with Microsoft/Azure technologies in a team environment using industry standard best-practices. An exemplary applicant will have a strong knowledge of the .NET Framework in the C# languages, an ability to work on several projects at once, the skills to professionally troubleshoot issues, the ability to work independently, and the acumen to work with customers directly. In this role you will apply the principles of software engineering to design, develop, maintain, test and deploy client software projects all while keeping your sights on solving business problems. We are looking for someone who is innovative, self-driven, has a strong technical focus combined with a team-oriented attitude.

Candidates must be willing to work hybrid onsite at our Cohoes, NY office.

We would ideally like someone willing to work hybrid onsite at our Cohoes, NY office, but we are willing to consider EST based remote workers who are able to visit our office with some frequency. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of software development experience on modern Microsoft platforms including C#, ASP.NET Core, Razor, Blazor, Minimal APIs / Web APIs, and .NET 8/9 (LTS)
• Experience building and architecting new solutions from the ground up
• Hands-on experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, or similar to accelerate development, code review, and testing workflows
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue, or Blazor with a strong understanding of contemporary web development is desired
• Experience working in a blend of on-prem and cloud environments
• Experience with RESTful and/or gRPC API design
• Skillful in writing unit and integration tests using xUnit
• Expertise in SQL Server or equivalent relational database experience
• Practical experience using Entity Framework Core or a comparable ORM
• Experience working in an Agile / Scrum team environment
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and modern source control workflows (Git) is a plus

Responsibilities:

Eligible candidates must have a fundamental understanding of and demonstrated experience with:

• Service-oriented and microservices architectures
• Modern software design patterns and clean architecture principles
• Infrastructure, DevOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices
• Message queues, event-driven systems & microservices
• Database design, modeling and implementation (SQL)
• Web and application server configuration & administration
• Integrating and responsibly applying AI tooling within the software development lifecycle
• In this role you will:
  • Assist and/or lead efforts with System Architecture and Technical Design
  • Assist and/or lead efforts in database design and construction in MS-SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle and others
  • Assist and/or lead efforts as a key contributor in the Application Development functional area
  • Write clean, testable, maintainable code and participate in peer code reviews
  • Assist and mentor other team members where appropriate

Optional

• Experience working in Azure using App Services, Key Vault, Azure Functions, Azure Storage or others
• Experience with Azure DevOps and working with Azure Pipelines or similar CI/CD tooling or the desire to learn
