Translation Validator – Nepali | Remote | Freelance

About the Role

Welo Data is seeking experienced linguists and language professionals to support a synthetic data generation project for a leading global technology client. As a Translation Validator (Nepali), you will evaluate machine-generated translations from English to Nepali, helping improve the quality and accuracy of AI-generated content.

In this role, you will review an English source text alongside two AI-generated Nepali translations, select the stronger translation, and provide a brief justification for your decision. Your evaluations will directly contribute to the development of more accurate multilingual AI systems.

Job Details

Job Title: Translation Validator – Nepali
Location: Remote (India & Nepal)
Employment Type: Freelance Contract
Project Duration: Approximately 2 Weeks
Compensation: USD $3.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Review English source documents and two machine-generated Nepali translations.
• Assess translations for accuracy, fluency, grammar, tone, and overall quality.
• Select the preferred translation variant and provide a written explanation for your choice.
• Follow project guidelines and quality standards consistently.
• Complete assigned tasks independently within project deadlines.
• Contribute to improving AI language models through high-quality linguistic evaluations.

Required Qualifications

• Native-level proficiency in Nepali (written and spoken).
• Strong understanding of Nepali grammar, vocabulary, and language nuances.
• Good command of English.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to make objective linguistic judgments.
• Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in Translation, Linguistics, Localization, Language Studies, or related fields.
• Experience in translation review, quality assurance, content evaluation, or language annotation projects.
• Familiarity with AI, machine translation, or linguistic evaluation tasks.
• Knowledge of Romanized Nepali script conventions is an advantage.
