Job Purpose:
To lead and drive consistent execution of retail operations across all stores nationally, ensuring operational excellence, customer experience delivery, administrative compliance, and commercial performance.
The role translates organisational strategy into executable retail plans, ensuring alignment between Customer Experience and Administrative disciplines while driving performance through regional leadership teams.
Retail Operations Execution & Performance
- Ensure consistent execution of national priorities across all regions through structured cadence, reporting, and accountability frameworks.
- Translate strategic direction into clear operational priorities
- Ensure alignment of CX and Admin disciplines nationally
- Drive achievement of sales, margin and operational KPIs
- Monitor national retail performance and identify improvement opportunities
- Standardise operational practices across stores
- Identify process improvement opportunities
- Support implementation of new systems or operational initiatives
- Use operational data to drive performance improvements
- Standardise reporting frameworks across regions
Leadership of Regional Teams
- Lead, coach and hold accountable regional leadership teams to deliver objectives
- Set clear expectations, goals and accountability frameworks
- Align regional priorities to national objectives
- Drive collaboration between CX and Admin structures
- Facilitate leadership development and capability building
- Ensure consistent performance management practices
Customer Experience
- Ensure delivery of consistent customer experience across all stores.
- Drive CX standards, visual merchandising, and service culture
- Monitor customer feedback
- Implement initiatives that improve customer engagement and retention
- Partner with Marketing and Omnichannel teams to ensure seamless customer journeys
Operational Compliance, Risk & Administration
- Ensure strong governance and operational control across retail operations.
- Oversee audit performance, risk mitigation and compliance standards
- Ensure consistency in stock control, receiving, cash handling and admin practices
- Monitor health & safety compliance and regulatory adherence
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the primary operational link between strategy and execution.
- Work closely with Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Marketing and IT
- Ensure operational feasibility of strategic initiatives
- Provide feedback from stores to inform strategic decisions
Requirements
Job Specifications
- Relevant retail or business-related qualification
- 5–8+ years retail operations leadership experience
- Experience managing multi-layer leadership structures
- Strong commercial and operational mindset
- Experience in multi-store retail environments
