NASDA Enumerator Coach (Southern Minnesota)

The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) is seeking a dependable, motivated Enumerator Coach to support a team of agricultural survey Enumerators.

In this part-time leadership role, you will help ensure that agricultural survey data is collected accurately, consistently, and objectively. The information collected supports farmers, ranchers, rural communities, agricultural organizations, and decision-makers across the country.

As an Enumerator Coach, you will serve as a trusted resource for Enumerators by providing coaching, training, technical assistance, and quality-control support throughout the data-collection process.

About the Position

The Enumerator Coach reports to an assigned NASDA Manager and provides leadership, guidance, and support to a team of up to 20 Enumerators.

You will help Enumerators successfully complete agricultural surveys by answering questions, providing training and technical assistance, reviewing completed work, and helping resolve issues that arise during data collection.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, solving problems, teaching others, and maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Review completed survey forms, questionnaires, and related materials for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with program requirements.
• Coach, monitor, and provide ongoing support to Enumerators throughout the data-collection process.
• Provide training and guidance on survey procedures, technology, and program requirements.
• Answer technical and procedural questions and help Enumerators resolve challenges in the field.
• Communicate regularly with the NASDA Enumerator Manager and assigned Enumerators.
• Complete surveys as needed while effectively balancing individual responsibilities with team-support duties.
• Support quality-control activities and help maintain high standards for accurate and reliable data.
• Prepare and deliver quarterly training presentations to groups of 40 or more Enumerators.
• Help create a positive, professional, and collaborative environment that supports Enumerator success.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma and one year of college or relevant work experience.
• Previous experience collecting data.
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the confidence to exercise sound judgment and resolve issues independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong presentation and training abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Availability to work approximately 20–30 hours per week, including occasional weekends when needed.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel intermittently throughout the year.
• Ability to walk unassisted for up to 100 yards.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Availability to attend quarterly in-person training, which may require travel of up to 350 miles.
• Ability to prepare and deliver training presentations to groups of 40 or more people.
• A private, suitable home-office workspace for completing work responsibilities.
• Ability to operate and navigate an iPad, use email, and learn new technology, systems, and job-related procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of or experience in agriculture.
• Sales, customer-service, or other public-facing experience.
• Previous experience coaching, training, supervising, or mentoring others.
• Experience working with agricultural producers, farmers, ranchers, or rural communities.
