About “is”
“is” is a new kind of social content platform built around the concept of “Linked Micro-Content.” Instead of traditional posts or videos, users create short, expressive statements called “Isms” — small bursts of language and emotion that link together to form dynamic networks of thought, humor, news, and creativity. Each Ism can be styled, remixed, and transformed through AI-driven modes that affect visuals, motion, and tone. Our platform blends art, language, and machine intelligence into a living, collaborative content ecosystem.
We’re a small, ambitious team building the next frontier of creative expression — where AI, design, and human imagination meet.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a highly skilled Front-End Web Developer specializing in React to help craft and evolve the is.fun user experience. You’ll build interfaces that are fast, dynamic, and visually expressive — enabling users to create and interact with “Isms” and AI-driven visual content in new ways. This role blends technical precision with creative flair, working closely with designers, back-end engineers, and AI teams to bring interactive features, motion, and seamless performance to life across browsers and devices.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop, test, and optimize front-end components using React and modern JavaScript frameworks
· Collaborate with designers to translate Figma prototypes and creative concepts into production-ready interfaces
· Implement responsive layouts, animations, and dynamic transitions using React hooks, CSS modules, and modern styling libraries
· Integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs to connect data, content, and AI-driven services
· Work with backend engineers to ensure reliable and secure front-end communication with the API layer
· Contribute to the continuous improvement of performance, accessibility, and maintainability across the codebase
· Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and release cycles
· Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve front-end issues in collaboration with QA engineers
· Maintain consistency and scalability within our evolving design and component system
Qualifications
· 5+ years of professional experience in front-end web development
· Proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern front-end build systems (Vite, Webpack, or similar)
· Experience consuming RESTful or GraphQL APIs
· Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and responsive design
· Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and modular component architectures
· Experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, and agile development practices
· Strong debugging and performance optimization skills
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment with shifting priorities
Nice to Have
· Experience with Next.js or server-side rendering
· Familiarity with WebGL, Three.js, or motion libraries like Framer Motion
· Experience integrating AI or media processing workflows
· Knowledge of automated testing (Playwright, Jest, Cypress) for front-end validation
· Experience with cloud hosting environments such as Azure or AWS
Who You Are
You’re a software front-end creative technologist who thrives at the intersection of design and engineering. You care deeply about interface quality, polish, and performance. You enjoy building components that feel alive — responsive, fast, and full of personality. You love collaborating with designers, experimenting with animation, and pushing what’s possible in the browser.
