This is a full-time, 12-month, open-rank faculty appointment in the fully online Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) Program. The position's primary responsibility is high-quality graduate teaching. The faculty member will also contribute to student advising, curriculum and assessment activities, CAHME accreditation-related work, scholarship, service, and program initiatives. Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate's education, experience, and qualifications at the time of hire.
Education, Training, and Prior Employment Experiences
Required Qualifications
- Earned doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution in healthcare administration, health services research, public health, health policy, healthcare leadership, business administration, or a closely related field.
- Relevant teaching, healthcare leadership, healthcare administration, consulting, policy, research, or related professional experience.
- Evidence of, or clear potential for, effective graduate teaching and scholarly or professional contribution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching in online or asynchronous graduate programs.
- Experience in two or more MHA curricular areas, allowing flexibility across teaching assignments.
- Applied expertise in one or more emerging or strategically important areas, such as responsible artificial intelligence in healthcare, healthcare data analytics, informatics, digital health, data governance and ethics, digital transformation, international or comparative health systems, healthcare innovation, or other areas responsive to evolving industry and workforce needs.
- Healthcare executive, administrative, consulting, or organizational leadership experience, with the ability to translate real-world decision-making, innovation, and complex health system challenges into graduate learning.
- Experience with competency-based education, program assessment, curriculum development, or CAHME-accredited programs.
- Relevant professional credentials or active engagement with organizations such as ACHE, AUPHA, CAHME, MGMA, and/or comparable associations.

Essential Functions
Responsibility
Provide effective, student-centered instruction in the MHA curriculum and contribute to the continued quality, growth, and mission of the program. The faculty member should be prepared to teach across multiple healthcare administration content areas, such as healthcare management, leadership, strategy, operations, quality and patient safety, health policy, finance, human resources, law and ethics, information systems, or population health. Candidates may bring applied expertise in one or more areas that complement the current faculty, including responsible artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in healthcare, healthcare data analytics or informatics, digital transformation, international or comparative health systems, healthcare innovation, or healthcare executive leadership. The successful candidate will contribute to a broad, accessible, and engaging learning environment that supports students with varied professional, educational, geographic, and personal backgrounds.
Teaching
- Teach graduate courses in the fully online, asynchronous MHA program in accordance with assigned workload and University expectations.
- Develop, revise, and maintain rigorous course content, syllabi, learning activities, and assessments aligned with program competencies and learning outcomes.
- Use evidence-based online teaching practices that promote engagement, applied learning, critical thinking, and professional development.
- Contribute applied expertise in one or more strategic areas, including artificial intelligence in healthcare, healthcare data analytics and/or informatics, international and/or comparative health systems, or healthcare executive leadership.
- Contribute applied expertise in one or more strategic areas, including responsible artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in healthcare, healthcare data analytics or informatics, digital transformation, international or comparative health systems, healthcare innovation, or healthcare executive leadership.
- Design abroad and accessible online learning experiences that recognize varied professional backgrounds, learning needs, perspectives, and levels of healthcare experience.
- Incorporate emerging healthcare trends, technologies, ethical considerations, and workforce needs through applied approaches such as case-based learning, simulation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and projects developed with healthcare organizations.
Advising and Student Support
- Advise and mentor assigned MHA students regarding academic progress, professional development, and career goals.
- Maintain timely, supportive communication with students and collaborate with program and University support services as appropriate.
- Support student recruitment, retention, engagement, and alumni connection activities.
Program, Assessment, and Accreditation Support
- Participate in curriculum review, competency assessment, program evaluation, and continuous improvement activities.
- Support ongoing CAHME accreditation compliance, data reporting, and preparation for required reviews.
- Collaborate with the Program Director and faculty on course scheduling, curricular needs, and program initiatives.
- Contribute, as appropriate, to experiential learning, employer and community partnerships, and international or comparative health systems opportunities.
Scholarship and Service
- Engage in scholarly and professional development activities consistent with rank, departmental expectations, and the University Faculty Handbook.
- Participate in departmental, school, University, and professional service.
- Maintain active engagement with relevant professional organizations and the healthcare administration community.

Reporting Relationships
- The MHA faculty member reports to the MHA Program Director.
