Great engineering doesn’t just support projects. It shapes how they’re built, improves performance, and creates lasting value for customers.
As an MEP Piping Designer, you’ll support the design and optimization of mechanical piping systems using Viega press systems and related solutions. You’ll review project specifications, develop drawings and models, perform system calculations, and partner with contractors, engineers, customers, and Sales colleagues to move projects from concept through completion.

In this role, you will:
• Own projects from initial submission review through final delivery, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and strong customer collaboration.
• Review project specifications to identify technical requirements, concerns, and project feasibility.
• Develop piping system drawings, schematics, and models for construction or prefabrication, including pipe sizing, material selection, and system layout.
• Perform system calculations, including volumes, flow rates, pressures, load calculations, and other design requirements.
• Analyze and optimize piping designs to improve performance, installation efficiency, and total cost of ownership.
• Provide bills of materials, labor comparisons, submittal packages, and project-specific specifications.
• Specify equipment and piping system components based on customer needs, project requirements, and local codes.
• Organize and maintain project revisions, including models, calculations, bills of materials, and documentation.
• Work closely with contractors, engineers, Sales colleagues, and customers to manage project flow and support successful outcomes.
• Assist colleagues with piping design reviews and share technical knowledge across the team.
• Attend meetings, follow safety rules and guidelines, and travel occasionally as needed.

• Experience with CAD programs, including 2D and/or 3D design tools.
• Strong analytical, time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external customers.
• Commitment to safety, quality, service, and representing Viega with professionalism.
