The Medical Director will serve as the physician of record for practice compliance, NPI filings, and clinical documentation. They are responsible for providing clinical oversight to nurse practitioners and physician assistants, including chart reviews and maintaining collaborative practice agreements.
ROLE SUMMARY
The Medical Director will serve as the supervising physician for nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs) operating within the practice. This role is the primary physician of record on all practice compliance documentation, NPI filings, and initial prescription applications. The ideal candidate is experienced in telehealth, comfortable with collaborative practice agreements, and holds an unrestricted license to prescribe controlled substances.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Serve as the physician of record on practice documentation, NPI applications, and licensing filings, Full Script / Lab Requisitions
• Supervise and provide clinical oversight to mid-level providers (NPs and PAs)
• Execute and maintain Collaborative Practice Agreements (CPAs) and/or Supervision Agreements as required by state law
• Review and co-sign charts, prescriptions, and clinical decisions as required
• Ensure compliance with Nevada state regulations governing telehealth and supervised practice
• Be available for clinical consultation with supervised providers on a timely basis
• Support DEA registration and controlled substance compliance requirements for the practice
REQUIREMENTS
• Active, unrestricted Nevada medical license (MD or DO)
• Active DEA registration with full Schedule II–V prescribing authority
• No history of disciplinary action, license restrictions, or adverse actions by any medical board
• Experience supervising NPs and/or PAs in a clinical or telehealth setting
• Comfortable serving as physician of record for compliance, NPI, and credentialing documentation
• Willingness to enter into Collaborative Practice Agreements as required by Nevada regulations
• Reliable availability for provider consultations and chart review
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Active, unrestricted Nevada medical license (MD or DO) (strong bonus)
• Prior experience as a Medical Director or supervising physician in a telehealth environment
• Familiarity with multi-state telehealth compliance and licensing requirements
• Board certified in a relevant specialty
COMPENSATION
Base Retainer: $250/month — covers the Medical Director role and practice documentation responsibilities
Per-Practitioner Fee: $500/month per mid-level provider (NP or PA) under active supervision
Engagement Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Hours: Part-time, flexible — set your own schedule
