At Shionogi, we are committed to improving global health through scientific innovation, collaboration and excellence in patient care. We are seeking a Medical and Scientific Liaison (MSL) to cover the north of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

As a Medical Science Liaison in a small team, you will have wide range of duties to be a trusted scientific expert, engaging with healthcare professionals and KOLs to exchange insights, support evidence generation, and help shape medical strategy.

About the Role

• Support launch readiness activities, stakeholder mapping and KOL engagement plans.
• Lead scientific exchange with healthcare professionals and health system decision-makers in a compliant, non-promotional manner.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with KOLs, healthcare professionals and other external stakeholders.
• Gather and communicate medical insights to support medical strategy and business decision-making.
• Support evidence-generation activities, including company-sponsored studies and investigator-initiated trials.
• Deliver scientific and medical information relating to Shionogi products, disease areas and emerging clinical data.
• Contribute to advisory boards, medical education programmes and scientific events.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, Market Access and other internal teams while maintaining scientific independence.
• Support patient-focused initiatives and engage with relevant advocacy groups where appropriate.

 
What Are We Looking For?

We are looking for a proactive and self-motivated individual who thrives working autonomously and has a genuine passion for a field-based role.

You must also have:

• Previous experience as a MSL for hospital pharmaceutical products or specialty care medicines.
• Strong scientific and clinical knowledge with the ability to critically appraise and communicate complex medical data.
• Experience developing productive relationships with healthcare professionals and Key Opinion Leaders.
• Strong understanding of clinical research, trial methodology and interpretation of clinical evidence.
• Knowledge of the UK & Ireland pharmaceutical environment, NHS and relevant compliance requirements.
• Excellent English communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to identify meaningful insights and translate them into actionable recommendations.
• Experience working effectively within cross-functional and matrix organisations.
• A proactive, collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for scientific excellence.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the UK & Ireland.
