Mechanical Engineer (SolidWorks) - Part-Time Contract

Description of Role

We’re looking for a mechanical engineer proficient in SolidWorks to support our team on a short-term, part-time contract. You’ll produce production-ready drawings and assemblies, applying sound GD&T practices.

• Part-time contract, approximately 25 hours total
• Duration: 2–3 months
• Location Remote
• Open to candidates anywhere in the US who work through their own LLC or business entity
• Candidates not working through an LLC must be based in Massachusetts

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D drawings from 3D SolidWorks models
• Build and manage basic assemblies
• Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 to ensure manufacturability and clear design intent
• Collaborate with the team to review and revise designs as needed

Requirements

Required Qualifications 

• Proficiency in SolidWorks (part modeling, assemblies, drawings)
• Solid working knowledge of GD&T
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• Portfolio of relevant work required with application

Nice to Have

• Experience with FEA (SolidWorks Simulation or similar) 
• Solidworks surfacing 
• Operating through your own LLC or business entity
