Armada Supply Chain Solutions has been around for more than 100 years and is one of Pittsburgh's largest private companies.  We understand that a successful organization starts from the inside.  Armada’s culture creates an atmosphere of open planning, innovation, and diversity of thought.  The IT Application Manager, reporting to the Director of IT Shared Services Applications, will be part of a collaborative, dynamic team responsible for managing the day-to-day operational support for their specific business function/applications. In collaboration with business partners, the incumbent will support technology solutions that deliver efficient, scalable, business processes enabling the business unit to meet their goals.  This role will lead a team responsible for ensuring scalable and sustainable support of the applications they manage, delivering on defined service levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the support of the specific assigned applications
  • Understand application user pain points and collaborate to propose potential process changes/new solutions
  • Proactively bring solutions to improve productivity (consider all technologies including process automation, robotic process automation, artificial intelligence, and machine learning) - work collaboratively with customers and colleagues to develop the business case
  • Serve as first point of escalation for application-specific customer issues
  • Manage IT related business risks associated with owned applications
  • Ensure standard processes and procedures are followed for application support and change management
  • Collaborate closely with technical, development, architecture, integration, and/or functional configuration resources, both internal and 3rd party, to implement systems changes as required
  • Provides direction and leadership in close collaboration with the Project Management Office (PMO) to prioritize IT projects, enhancements, and support for the applications supported
  • Develop and evaluate application support plans and criteria to be carried out by others on the team, within IT, or within the business areas supported
  • Participate in new IT implementations (for example M&As and divestiture) as needed
  • Acts as liaison with respective customers/stakeholders on application support (incidents and requests) to ensure the root cause is identified and the proposed solutions align to Armada business requirements, processes, and objectives
  • Provide support and development to employees through performance management, coaching, motivation, and training

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Direct management of a small team consisting of technical and functional application resources focused on application development and support.
  • Direct management of third-party resources providing IT services to Armada.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in information systems, business management, computer science or closely related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum (5) years of experience managing a team of functional systems analysts and developers. Resource manager for projects and managing production support to meet SLA’s.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience with demonstrated progressive technical management experience supporting business customers and major business applications, specifically Sales/Marketings and Salesforce
  • Understanding of Sales/Marketing end-to-end business processes (Lead/Opportunity/Contact Management, Q2C, etc.)
  • IT business analysis background with a focus on technology within Sales and Distribution/Marketing. Additional experience in Finance, HR, Legal or past work experience in one of those areas utilizing relevant business systems.
  • Experience with the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Must have technical hands-on experience supporting applications like Salesforce or others relevant applications.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Ability to collaborate with peers in the business and IT organization to set priorities, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to drive and lead process changes and present results at the highest levels of the organization
  • Can influence without formal authority
  • Can manage high-profile and large-scale improvement projects while achieving aggressive targets & meeting deadlines

Preferred Skills

  • Master’s Degree in a related field
  • Knowledge of supply chain technologies and prior experience in supply chain industry.
  • Prior experience with an end-to-end ERP implementation
  • Understanding of end-to-end business processes (P2P, R2R, CLM, HCM, etc.)
  • IT configuration and setup experience with specific applications used by shared services business areas (JDE, UKG, DocuSign)

  • Work can be performed remotely or in an office environment with normal noise levels.  Involved prolonged sitting, and computer usage.
  • Work may involve limited travel for training, conferences, and visits to Vendor, Distributor and Hub One center shipping and warehouse facilities as well as carrier terminals.
