What you'll do...

As our International Corporate Tax Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and executing H&R Block’s global tax strategy. This role will serve as a key point of ownership for international tax matters, including U.S. reporting of foreign operations, global tax provision considerations, and cross-border planning initiatives. 

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Tax, you’ll collaborate closely with finance, accounting, treasury, and legal, as well as external advisors, to ensure compliance with evolving global regulations while identifying opportunities to enhance the Company’s global tax profile and processes. 

Day to Day, you’ll 

  • Lead the review and oversight of U.S. international tax compliance, including Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, 1118, 8991, 8992, 8993, and related reporting 
  • Own and enhance core international tax calculations, including GILTI, Subpart F, foreign tax credits, and related modeling 
  • Manage international components of the ASC 740 tax provision 
  • Assist with the coordination and oversight of local country tax compliance, including statutory income tax filings, as well as audits and inquiries from U.S. and foreign tax authorities 
  • Develop materials for foreign entity board meetings and governance processes 
  • Partner cross-functionally to support tax planning, intercompany transactions, and business initiatives 
  • Provide technical analysis and guidance on complex international tax matters, including law changes and structural considerations 
  • Drive process improvements and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, scalability, and controls across international tax processes 
  • Serve as a key resource within the tax team, mentoring team members and helping build sustainable processes in a growing function

What you'll bring to the team...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or master’s degree preferred 
  • 5–7+ years of progressive tax experience, including at least 2–3 years focused on U.S. international tax  
  • Experience in public accounting and/or a multinational corporate tax department  
  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. international tax concepts, including Subpart F, GILTI, foreign tax credits, and entity classifications 
  • Experience supporting ASC 740, with exposure to international provision components  
  • Demonstrated ability to research complex tax issues and clearly communicate conclusions and recommendations  
  • Ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment  
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills  
  • Effective communication and ability to collaborate across functions and with external advisors 

 


It would be even better if you also had...

  • Experience with international tax planning and structuring initiatives
  • Exposure to Pillar Two / global minimum tax considerations 
  • Experience managing or reviewing work prepared by external advisors 
  • Familiarity with tax technology or process automation tools 
  • Prior experience supporting foreign audits or controversy matters

Pay Range Information

The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan. Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, (virtual) fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit.
Pay Range

$109,800 - $175,700/Yr.
