Overall Function

Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Editorial and Member Cultivation, for Moms Clean Air Force, the Manager for Public Engagement is responsible for planning and managing coherent digital campaigns across membership and web tied to field and national priorities and programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage membership consultant in the production of digital campaigns.

  • Serve as field content liaison and producer, manage field content including systems, editing/writing/posting, and backend tagging/optimizing.

  • Understand the importance of SEO and AEO and how to tag articles and resources.

  • Track our issues in order to maintain up-to-date, search-optimized program, issue, resource, and campaign webpages.

  • Manage administrative processes for meetings, system flow, schedules, timelines, calendars, and connectivity to social media/audience development, comms, and grant deliverables.

  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines in fast-paced environment.

  • Identify and develop relationships with key stakeholders in target industries with the goal of fostering trust, gathering information, developing project ideas, and recruiting partners.

  • Manage and support by overseeing budgets for project work, developing workplans,  identifying and procuring necessary resources, project work and deliverables.

  • Lead and communicate various project goals and results to EDF staff, companies, policymakers, environmental groups, the media, and the public through reports, interviews, presentations, and other methods.

  • Develop and apply appropriate means for measuring the success of Moms’ membership and editorial programs.

  • In addition to these responsibilities, the incumbent will play an integral role in other activities including fundraising, evaluating and recommending new project ideas; disseminating and communicating project results; and being a team player in the development of a vibrant and entrepreneurial program.

  • Manage, mentor, and support staff as the team grows.

  • Participate in advancing EDF organizational effectiveness and culture goals in which people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included, and empowered to address the environmental and organizational challenges in alignment with EDF values. 

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field with at least 6 years of applicable experience. A Master’s degree or equivalent may substitute for up to 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage teams toward the delivery of strong outcomes.

  • Strong awareness of digital trends, consume social media daily and culture more broadly.

  • Strong editor/writer and have content management systems experience in order to conceive, manage, schedule, and write/edit coherent digital campaigns across membership and web tied to EPA dockets, federal legislation, and environmental justice programs.

  • Possess a high degree of diplomacy to influence and manage key stakeholders and teams

  • Experience in collaboration, build effective coalitions, and work within diverse communities.

  • Creativity, energy, and the ability to multi-task and get work done under pressure and respond quickly to changing opportunities.

  • Strong and persuasive verbal and written communication skills.

  • Presence, confidence, integrity, creativity, and a sense of humor.

  • Ability and willingness to work as a strong team player, together with a demonstrated capacity to work independently and as a self-starter.

  • Highly proficient computer skills, including MS Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Demonstrates self-awareness, cultural competency and inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across all cultures and backgrounds.
