The Maintenance Mechanic performs emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electrical and hydraulic and identifies and replaces worn or damaged parts in a timely manner. Machines include Baggers, Ovens and conveyers.
Qualifications Safety compliance: Adhering to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, while working on machinery.
· Preventative maintenance: Regularly inspecting and servicing machinery according to established schedules to identify potential problems before they occur.
· Fabrication skills: ability to complete fabrication tasks like welding, cutting, or bending metal to repair or modify equipment parts in a food facility.
· Technical knowledge: Understanding mechanical principles, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and relevant industry standards.
· Adherence to GMP and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards for maintenance
· Troubleshooting and repair: Diagnosing mechanical issues, dismantling equipment to access faulty parts, replacing worn components, reassembling machinery to restore functionality, and recommending preventative maintenance measures to prevent unplanned failure
· Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used in compliance with CMMS policies and procedures.
· Working knowledge of tools, common manufacturing machines and devices
· Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
· Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
· High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus
· Five plus years maintenance experience in food and beverage facilities
· Observing mechanical devices in operation to locate the sources of problems and ensure the proper functioning of the machines
· Cleaning and lubricating the equipment and machinery
· Maintaining a safe and clean working environment for everyone
· Collecting and summarizing analyses, activity logs, and trends for maintenance reports
· Ability to report to work and on time, as scheduled.
· Adheres to all safety measures and protocols.
· Other duties may be assigned.
