Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications and systems
- Write, test, and debug code using mainframe languages such as COBOL, JCL, or Assembler
- Analyze and resolve mainframe system issues, ensuring high availability and performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system integrations and migrations
- Monitor batch processing jobs and optimize mainframe workloads
- Document technical specifications, processes, and system changes
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices for mainframe development
Requirements:
- Proven experience in mainframe development or administration (IBM z/OS environment preferred)
- Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, or related mainframe technologies
- Strong understanding of batch processing, job scheduling, and mainframe performance tuning
- Experience with mainframe tools such as ISPF, SDSF, or equivalent utilities
- Ability to troubleshoot complex mainframe issues independently in a remote setting
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience
