We are seeking Macedonian Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Macedonian is a rare Balkan language, often needed in immigration and asylum proceedings.
Responsibilities
- Provide real-time Macedonian ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.
- Interpret accurately, impartially, and professionally in immigration, legal, and administrative settings.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with USCIS/DHS interpreter standards.
- Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge interpretation requests.
- Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance reviews.
Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in Macedonian and English.
- 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, medical, or government preferred).
- Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.
- Strong communication and telephone interpretation skills.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.
