Century Mechanical Holdings
Location: Fully Remote, U.S.-Based Only
Schedule: Full-Time, East Coast Business Hours
About the Role
Century Mechanical Holdings is seeking a highly capable Local SEO & Content Marketing Specialist to support the continued growth of our home services portfolio. This role is ideal for a well-rounded, “jack-of-all-trades” SEO professional who understands how technical SEO, local SEO, content, website structure, reviews, Google Business Profiles, and user experience all work together to drive measurable lead generation.
This person will support HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and related home services brands across the CMH portfolio. They will help launch new acquisition websites, optimize existing local visibility, build service-area content strategies, improve organic performance, and create a repeatable SEO playbook that can scale across multiple brands and markets.
The right candidate should have proven experience working with home services companies and understand what drives performance in local search: strong Google Business Profile optimization, service-area relevance, locally optimized content, technical site health, fast mobile performance, reviews, internal linking, structured data, and high-converting service pages.
This is not a narrow keyword research role. We are looking for someone who can connect the dots across SEO, content, web development, analytics, local listings, and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Local SEO Strategy
- Develop and execute local SEO strategies for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and related home services brands.
- Optimize websites and landing pages for local service-area visibility, emergency service demand, branded search, non-branded search, and high-intent service queries.
- Build scalable SEO frameworks for city pages, service-area pages, neighborhood pages, service pages, and location pages.
- Support new acquisition launches by setting up the local SEO foundation from day one.
- Identify the highest-impact SEO opportunities across multiple brands and prioritize the work that will drive the greatest return.
Google Business Profile Optimization
- Set up, optimize, and manage Google Business Profiles for new and existing locations.
- Ensure accurate business information, categories, services, descriptions, photos, service areas, hours, and tracking information.
- Monitor GBP performance, local rankings, review visibility, calls, website clicks, direction requests, and customer actions.
- Support local listing consistency across major directories, citation platforms, and data aggregators.
- Help troubleshoot GBP issues, suspensions, verification problems, duplicate listings, and service-area conflicts.
Content Strategy & Optimization
- Create and optimize local service content for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, indoor air quality, drain cleaning, water heaters, generators, and other home services categories.
- Develop content briefs for service pages, city pages, FAQs, blog posts, seasonal campaigns, and acquisition announcements.
- Use search intent, competitive research, customer questions, and ServiceTitan data where available to inform content priorities.
- Support the creation of high-quality, useful, locally relevant content that helps customers understand services and take action.
- Work with internal and external writers, designers, web developers, and marketing stakeholders to ensure content is accurate, relevant, and conversion-focused.
- Use generative content tools responsibly to scale content workflows while maintaining quality, originality, local relevance, and brand accuracy.
Technical SEO & Site Health
- Audit websites for technical SEO issues, including crawlability, indexation, metadata, redirects, canonical tags, broken links, internal linking, schema markup, page speed, and Core Web Vitals.
- Work with the web developer to resolve site architecture, page speed, mobile usability, and technical performance issues.
- Ensure websites are structured to support both local SEO and paid media landing page performance.
- Support schema markup for local business, services, reviews, FAQs, organization data, and location-specific content.
- Monitor Search Console, analytics, ranking tools, site crawlers, and other SEO platforms to identify opportunities and problems.
Holistic SEO Strategy
- Look beyond keywords and understand how technical architecture, content quality, page experience, reviews, internal links, and local authority work together.
- Translate SEO findings into clear business priorities and recommended actions.
- Apply the 80/20 rule to identify the changes most likely to improve visibility, traffic, leads, and booked jobs.
- Prioritize fixes and opportunities based on business impact, not just SEO theory.
- Understand when to execute directly and when to bring in a developer, writer, designer, analytics resource, or other specialist.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the SEO bridge between marketing, web development, content, operations, vendors, and leadership.
- Translate technical SEO and performance data into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
- Work with the web developer to improve site structure, landing page templates, page speed, mobile experience, schema, and tracking.
- Work with paid media stakeholders to align organic and paid strategies around high-value services, markets, and seasonal demand.
- Support reporting that connects SEO activity to traffic, leads, calls, online bookings, and business outcomes.
Reporting & Performance Analysis
- Monitor organic traffic, local visibility, keyword rankings, Google Business Profile activity, calls, website clicks, form submissions, and lead quality.
- Build clear reporting around SEO performance by brand, market, service line, and location.
- Identify trends, opportunities, risks, and underperforming pages or markets.
- Help establish standardized SEO reporting and performance benchmarks for the CMH portfolio.
- Use analytics and attribution tools to connect SEO work to revenue-driving activity wherever possible.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience managing SEO for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or broader home services companies.
- Strong understanding of local SEO, Google Business Profiles, service-area businesses, and multi-location SEO.
- Experience creating or optimizing service pages, city pages, location pages, blogs, FAQs, and local landing pages.
- Strong understanding of technical SEO, including crawlability, indexation, metadata, schema, redirects, internal linking, and site speed.
- Experience using tools such as Google Search Console, GA4, Google Business Profile Manager, Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Ahrefs, BrightLocal, Whitespark, Moz Local, or similar platforms.
- Ability to diagnose SEO issues quickly and prioritize the highest-impact work.
- Strong writing, editing, and content strategy skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with web developers, content creators, marketing managers, vendors, and executives.
- Comfortable managing SEO across multiple brands, locations, websites, and markets.
- Must be U.S.-based and available to work East Coast business hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with private equity-backed, acquisition-driven, or multi-brand home services organizations.
- Experience supporting SEO during website migrations, acquisitions, rebrands, domain changes, or location launches.
- Familiarity with ServiceTitan, ServiceTitan Marketing Pro, Scheduling Pro, online booking, call tracking, and lead attribution workflows.
- Experience building scalable SEO playbooks for multiple home services brands or service-area businesses.
- Experience using AI or generative content workflows to support content creation, optimization, and scaling while maintaining quality control.
- Familiarity with paid search, Google Local Services Ads, call tracking, and how SEO supports broader lead generation strategy.
- Experience with review strategy, reputation signals, citation management, and local ranking factors.
- Basic HTML/CSS knowledge and the ability to communicate clearly with web developers.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a strategic SEO generalist who understands how all parts of local search work together. This person does not operate in a silo or simply chase keywords. They understand that SEO performance is influenced by technical site health, mobile experience, information architecture, content quality, local relevance, reviews, internal linking, page speed, and the customer’s path to conversion.
This person should be able to audit a website, spot technical issues, identify content gaps, improve local visibility, optimize Google Business Profiles, prioritize the highest-impact opportunities, and communicate those priorities clearly to leadership.
They should be agile enough to fix a broken title tag, rewrite a service page, review a city-page template, evaluate a GBP issue, explain ranking changes, and coordinate with a developer or content resource when deeper support is needed.
The strength of this role is connecting the dots. The right person knows enough about technical SEO, content, local search, analytics, and web performance to move quickly, make smart decisions, and know when to pull in a specialist for heavier work.
