Overview
Vantage Mental Health is a clinician-led nonprofit outpatient practice, built by clinicians who love this work and wanted a better place to do it. We are focused exclusively on our mission to provide excellent care and support the professionals who do it and looking for others who want to be a part of our mission. As a Therapist at Vantage Mental Health you would join an interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, therapists, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners providing outpatient mental healthcare. We use an employed (W2), transparent, collections-based compensation (typically 60 to 80 percent net, no cap) and a flexible caseload.
More than filling a seat, we are looking to build a great team of clinicians who align with our mission and love this work. We're largely full right now, and we have expansion plans and more openings ahead, including a new Maple Grove clinic and added Edina capacity opening October 1, 2026. Wherever the openings are, we are driven by empowering the right people to do great work. That is what defines our future, and we stay flexible to make room for it, so we want to connect with people who are aligned with us even when the timing isn't exact.
Description
Let's talk about what group practice could actually be.
A lot of therapists we meet have landed somewhere they don't love. Maybe it's a profit-driven group where the caseload keeps creeping up, or a solo setting where you're isolated from peers who actually understand the work. Somewhere along the way, the thing that drew you to this field in the first place got harder to access.
We started Vantage Mental Health because we believe group practice can be something different. Real colleagues you can grab for a consult. Psychiatrists and therapists working side by side on shared patients. Leadership at your clinic that has real autonomy. Full transparency about how the business runs and where every dollar goes. We are not backed by private equity. Our decisions are guided by our mission and our people, not by productivity targets or profit margins.
Who thrives at Vantage
The therapists who are happiest here tend to share a few things, and we want to be open about them so you can picture yourself in the role. You will likely love it here if:
Working at Vantage is a setting for clinicians who are invested in the work and in a team. It is not built for a fully independent solo practice or a fixed-salary arrangement. Our compensation is collections-based and fully transparent, and it rewards the care you provide.
Who we are especially looking for right now
We welcome strong generalist therapists who fit the profile above. More than anything, we care about people who provide great care and make great colleagues, and experience matters to us. Right now we are particularly interested in:
We don't want to be limiting, so we encourage you to reach out even if you are unsure where you fit.
What the day-to-day actually looks like
You provide individual, couples, and family therapy tailored to each client's needs, in person at one of our clinics or through telehealth. You build your own caseload and schedule, pick the modalities and populations you're drawn to, and design approaches that fit your clients. You have actual peers to consult with, case conferences that are useful, and a multidisciplinary team including child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrists for collaborative care. There are no caseload minimums beyond what sustains your practice.
Compensation and benefits
Vantage uses a transparent, collections-based compensation model. You see all revenue and expenses, and the typical net is 60 to 80 percent of collections, with no cap on earning potential. Our clinicians are W2 employees, not 1099 contractors. We don't set your hours, and you have the flexibility to define your own work-life balance.
Benefits and other compensation include health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid compensation for supervision and consultation, and PSLF eligibility through our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status (eligibility is based on nonprofit status and is not a guarantee of approval).
The practical details
Active, unrestricted Minnesota license (LICSW, LCSW, LPCC, LP, or LMFT). Master's or doctoral degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field. Experience providing therapy in the outpatient clinic setting.
