Legal Counsel - Marketing

An exciting interim opportunity has arisen for a commercial lawyer to join the in-house legal team of a leading food and beverage company. This is a great opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working closely with the business and wants to gain further in-house experience in a fast-paced environment.

Working as part of a collaborative Legal team, you will provide practical, commercially focused legal support across a broad consumer business. You will partner closely with Marketing, Public Relations and Social Media Teams.

Responsibilities:

• Providing proactive, day-to-day commercial legal advice to Marketing, Public Relations and Social Media Teams, as well as other business stakeholders.
• Advising on consumer and competition law issues arising from marketing, promotional and commercial initiatives.
• Supporting commercial and sales contracting, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating customer, sponsorship, supplier and other commercial agreements.
• Managing a high-volume workload efficiently, prioritising competing demands and providing timely advice in a fast-paced environment.
• Working collaboratively with the broader Legal team and escalating material or complex issues where appropriate.
• Providing ad hoc legal advice and support across the business as required.

About You:

• A minimum of 4 years’ post-qualification experience, gained in-house or in a commercial law firm.
• Experience in FMCG, consumer products, advertising and/ or marketing.
• The ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines with appropriate supervision.
• A collaborative, hands-on approach and a genuine interest in partnering with the business.
