Lead Software Engineer, Platform

About the Role

Join a platform engineering team at an AI document processing software company. You will strengthen the systems that run document processing workloads, helping ensure they are fast, reliable, and cost-efficient as usage grows. You will partner closely with machine learning engineers and take ownership of platform health.

What You'll Do

• Own and improve the platform that runs document processing jobs, focusing on speed, reliability, and cost efficiency.

• Partner with machine learning teams to serve in-house models efficiently and integrate them into production workflows.

• Build and maintain databases, task orchestration, workload scheduling, and cloud deployments.

• Improve distributed systems by addressing latency, reliability, and scaling challenges.

• Participate in on-call rotations and take end-to-end responsibility for platform health.

What We're Looking For

• At least 5 years of platform or backend engineering experience, including work with distributed systems at scale.

• Strong Python proficiency, or deep Go or Rust expertise and a willingness to work in Python.

• Experience building task orchestration systems and improving platform reliability, with on-call experience.

• Application-level engineering experience in addition to infrastructure work.

• A track record of owning and scaling core infrastructure, demonstrated through senior-level responsibility, rapid growth in scope, or experience in a fast-growing startup.

• Experience with cloud infrastructure and optimizing model serving is beneficial.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary is $220,000 to $320,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
