We’re seeking an innovative and collaborative Lead Software Engineer to drive the design and delivery of scalable, high-impact software solutions. This role plays a critical leadership function in shaping technical strategy while mentoring a team of engineers to deliver best-in-class applications.

Role Overview
The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of high-quality, cloud-based software solutions. This role provides technical leadership across engineering teams, drives Azure-based architecture decisions, and ensures applications are scalable, secure, and high-performing within a modern microservices environment.
What You’ll Do
Lead the design, development, and testing of enterprise-level software applications
Define technical direction, architecture, and Azure-based solution design
Architect and build microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-native applications
Mentor and lead a team of software engineers, fostering collaboration and professional growth
Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and promote best practices
Collaborate cross-functionally with QA, product, and design teams
Design and implement secure applications across front-end, middle-tier, and database layers
Develop and optimize integration approaches (APIs, polling, webhooks)
Monitor production systems, perform performance tuning, load testing, and resilience testing
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges
Drive CI/CD, DevOps practices, and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes/AKS)
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning and retrospectives
Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
6+ years of software development experience (or equivalent)
Experience in the healthcare industry (dental preferred) is a plus
Technical Expertise
Strong proficiency in C#, .NET, and REST API development
Experience with microservices architecture and modern frameworks (Angular preferred)
Hands-on experience with Azure (App Services, Azure Functions, cloud-native solutions)
Strong experience with Microsoft SQL databases
Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) is a plus
Experience with containerization and cloud deployments (Docker, AKS, Kubernetes)
Solid understanding of integration patterns (webhooks, polling, APIs)
Knowledge of SOAP services is a plus
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Security & Performance
Strong understanding of application security best practices including JWT, encryption, and injection prevention
Experience with performance optimization, load testing, and resilience engineering
Core Skills
Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities
Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced, Agile environment
Work Environment
Primarily office-based with standard equipment and a collaborative team setting.
Sedentary role involving extended computer use and participation in Agile workflows.

Compensation In the spirit of pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $135,000 - $145,000/annual, excluding benefits and potential bonuses. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, experience, skills, and education. Liberty is committed to pay equity and also considers internal equity among current employees when making compensation decisions. Please note that offers are typically not made at the top of the salary range, allowing for future growth and advancement.
