The Lead Engineer directs the engineering team to ensure MEDXS and TMIP-J capabilities are reliably built, tested, integrated, and deployed across various environments. They are responsible for managing release readiness, theater systems integration, and providing technical status briefings to leadership.
PMdigital.ai is looking for a Lead Engineer to support the Air Force Operational Medicine Information Systems (AFOMIS) Program Office and AFCENT Surgeon General (AFCENT/SG) on the Medical Expeditionary Systems (MEDXS) program. MEDXS provides full life-cycle IM/IT support for the Air Force Medical Service's operational medicine capabilities. That includes the MEDXS Web Portal, the medical Waiver Management System, analytics dashboards, and Theater Medical Information Program–Joint (TMIP-J) applications used by deployed medical forces at garrison and forward locations in the USCENTCOM AOR.
Lead Engineer (MEDXS)
Position Summary
The Lead Engineer is the technical lead for MEDXS engineering, integration, and release readiness. You'll direct the engineering team and make sure MEDXS and TMIP-J capabilities are built, tested, integrated, and deployed reliably across garrison, NOSC, and forward-deployed environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead MEDXS engineering, sustainment, and release readiness, including pre-deployment testing, reach-back support, remote updates, and automated testing.
• Lead theater systems integration and Windows software deployments to deployed medical sites.
• Make sure the OpMed Integrated Test Environment (ITE) mirrors the operational environment and validates every update before it's fielded.
• Provide engineering and integration support for MEDXS capabilities that operate in environments that need access to Secret information. Prevent spillage.
• Guide system design, interoperability analysis, Agile development, technology refresh, and COTS/GOTS integration.
• Oversee configuration management baselines and release control for MEDXS, TMIP-AF, and Healthcare Delivery (HCD) software.
• Lead efforts to resolve critical outages within 4 hours, with no Priority 1 or Priority 2 defects in delivered software.
• Brief site leadership and the Government on technical status, risks, and recommendations.
Required Qualifications
• 10 or more years of directly relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining TMIP-J applications, DAF standard server and workstation baseline images, and enterprise workflow and data analytics applications.
• Experience with theater systems integration and Windows software deployments.
• DCWF Work Role 632 (Systems Developer), Intermediate proficiency per DoDM 8140.03.
• OCONUS Readiness Requirements (below).
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with the MEDXS Web Portal, the Waiver Management System, or JOMIS Operational Medicine systems.
• RMF/ATO experience on DoD health IT systems.
OCONUS Readiness Requirements (Mandatory on Day 1)
• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance (T3). Clearance verification will be required.
• Valid U.S. passport with at least 18 months of validity remaining.
• Proven experience managing personnel deployments, using the Synchronized Predeployment and Operational Tracker (SPOT), and handling host-nation theater clearance/DOCPER requirements across multiple OCONUS AORs.
