JOB SUMMARY: 
 
Adams Outdoor Advertising (AOA), the 4th largest and largest privately held outdoor advertising company in the United States, is seeking an experienced IT Specialist for a fully remote position. The IT Specialist provides technical assistance and troubleshooting for computer systems, software, and hardware to ensure end users can perform their work efficiently. Serving as the frontline of IT operations, this role is responsible for resolving technical issues, maintaining systems, and delivering technology support across the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE:  
  • Technical Support: Respond to user requests for help via ticketing systems, email, or phone; diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • System Setup & Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals, including printers and scanners..
  • User Account Management: Create and manage user profiles, passwords, and access permissions across platforms including Active Directory and Microsoft 365/Azure AD.
  • Software & Application Support: Deploy, update, and troubleshoot common enterprise applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe, VPNs).
  • Network Connectivity: Troubleshoot and resolve Wi-Fi, VPN, and local network connectivity issues, including support for Ubiquiti network infrastructure and related networking equipment.
  • Documentation: Accurately document support requests, troubleshooting steps, and ticket resolutions in Fresh Service. Maintain knowledge base articles and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent support, effective knowledge sharing, and timely issue resolution.
  • Escalation & Collaboration: Identify and escalate complex technical issues to Tier 2/3 support teams, or specialized resources when necessary, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication throughout the support process.
  • Possess excellent problem-solving abilities – can find simple solutions to complex problems – know how to deep dive to find the root of a problem.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to write clean, coherent design documents as well as being able to translate technical aspects to non-technical teams.
  • Excellent self-management skills and the ability to work independently on multiple projects, meet deadlines and  clearly document work.
  • The ability to traverse a variety of platforms to find the root cause of issues and propose simple resolutions.
  • Occasional travel to field locations.
 
SKILLS AND TOOLS:

 
  • Proficiency with Windows, macOS, and mobile OS environments
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Knowledge of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
  • Familiarity with endpoint security tools (antivirus, EDR platforms like Microsoft Defender)
  • Experience with remote support tools (Pulseway, Intune, AnyDesk, or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, Freshservice, etc.)
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation and SOPs
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Basic scripting or automation knowledge (PowerShell or batch) is a plus





PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • Experience: 1–3 years of helpdesk, desktop support, or technical troubleshooting experience
  • Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
