ABOUT THE ROLE
EIT Health is looking for a Health AI & Robotics Programme Manager to lead its contribution to a pan-European AI & Robotics initiative that spans four interconnected workstreams: overall programme coordination, a hands-on startup studio, larger multi-partner innovation projects, and a founder and investor community.
Reporting to the Head of Innovation to Market, you will help design and run open calls to identify promising AI and robotics ventures, oversee a health-specific acceleration track within the studio, and provide startups with mentoring, regulatory guidance and support to reach the market and attract investment. You will also help shape and connect health-focused innovation projects with hospitals, industry and research partners, and grow a strong network of health founders, investors and corporates within the wider community.
Working closely with internal teams, external partners and other participating organisations, you will track progress, budgets and results, and ensure that health-related AI innovation delivers tangible impact for patients, healthcare systems and the broader ecosystem.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate EIT Health's contribution to the AI & Robotics initiative, including planning, budget management, reporting, and alignment with internal and cross-organisational priorities.
  • Help design and run open calls to identify and select high-potential AI and robotics startups and innovation projects with strong health-sector relevance and market potential.
  • Lead the health-focused startup acceleration track, providing mentoring, regulatory and market-access guidance, and connections to relevant health industry experts and partners.
  • Recruit and coordinate mentors, clinical experts and industry advisors to support health AI startups through their acceleration journey and investment readiness.
  • Drive health-related innovation projects by identifying relevant challenge areas, engaging hospitals, industry and research partners, and supporting solution validation.
  • Build and grow the health segment of the broader founder, investor and corporate community by organising networking, matchmaking and ecosystem-building activities that connect health AI founders with funding and industry opportunities.
  • Track and report on key results, including startups supported, investment attracted, and partnerships developed, ensuring accurate and timely documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent EIT Health in relevant coordination meetings with other participating organisations, contributing health-sector expertise and ensuring EIT Health's priorities and strengths are well reflected in joint activities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal teams, startups, investors, corporates and healthcare partners engaging with EIT Health's AI & Robotics activities.

Your skills & knowledge

  • University degree in life sciences, biomedical engineering, health innovation, computer science, engineering, business or a related field; a master's degree is an advantage.
  • 4-6 years of professional experience in innovation management, startup acceleration, venture support or programme management, ideally within health, life sciences or deep-tech ecosystems.
  • Proven experience managing EU-funded programmes, including planning, reporting, budget management, KPI tracking and compliant use of funding.
  • Good understanding of AI and robotics technologies, emerging AI trends, startup technology readiness levels and how AI-driven solutions move from prototype to market.
  • Experience working with startups, corporates, investors or research institutions in a health-related or deep-tech innovation context. Exposure to European innovation funding programmes, accelerator models or public-private innovation partnerships would be a strong asset.
  • Strong understanding of the health innovation landscape, including how hospitals, medtech, pharma, payers and regulators engage with new digital health and AI-driven solutions.
  • Familiarity with key European regulatory and policy frameworks relevant to AI-driven health innovation, including the EU AI Act and European Health Data Space (EHDS).
  • Strong programme, stakeholder and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate diverse partners and translate complex technical or regulatory topics into clear guidance in an international environment.
  • Exposure to broader regulatory considerations relevant to AI in health, as well as equity, IP or revenue-sharing agreements, would be an advantage.
