INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CONTRACTOR POOL

Location: Symonds Street, Manukau, Wellington, Christchurch, Remote, or Remote (International)

This is an open job ad for anyone who wants to or has been approached to work with Whitecliffe on an Independent contractor basis. This could be in any capacity and for any length of time. It is not a single vacancy. Completing an application places you in our contractor pool, where all your information can be located and you may be approached when a suitable engagement arises.

All individuals must be approved through this process before a contract can be offered, including people nominated by a Programme Head or Lecturer, and people who have worked with us before.

Who Should Apply: 

Anyone interested in future contract work or has been approached for a potential opportunity such as:

• Lecturing or teaching (short or long term)
• Assessment and marking
• Postgraduate supervision or co-supervision
• Mentoring
• Guest lecturing
• Degree monitoring or moderation
• Other academic or programme support

Our Compliance Obligations

As a New Zealand tertiary provider we must meet NZQA requirements, so we assess each person against the following:

• Qualifications and expertise: relevant qualifications and current expertise appropriate to the programme level and the proposed activities. Where equivalent experience is relied on, it needs to be clearly documented.
• Teaching, assessment and moderation: capability and expertise appropriate to the responsibilities you would be assigned.
• Research: evidence of research activity and expertise appropriate to your contribution to degree and postgraduate provision.
• Postgraduate supervision: appropriate research and supervision skills and experience, in line with AC21. Supervisors who have not yet supervised at least two postgraduate students to completion will work as a co-supervisor alongside a lead supervisor.

The evidence we ask for is proportionate to the role. A guest lecturer will not need the same documentation as a postgraduate supervisor and therefore will be adjusted appropriately. 

Application Process

1. Complete every field in the application form. Applications with missing information cannot progress.
2. Attach all required documents (listed below). Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
3. A Programme Head will review your application against the criteria above, followed by an HR compliance check.
4. If approved, you will join our contractor pool. 
5. When a specific engagement is planned, you will be contacted. A contract is only issued after the engagement is approved internally, all documentation has been provided and shared.

Current CV 

Academic Qualifications (most relevant and highest qualification), academic transcript is accepted as well 

Evidence of teaching, assessment or moderation experience

Supervision History, including the number of postgraduate completions you have been apart of 

Proof of right to work in NZ, or remote work eligibility if based overseas

• No work may begin until a signed contract is in place.
• All information is checked and qualifications may be verified through the NZQA Portal.
• You must complete a Conflict of Interest Form as a part of your onboarding
• Submitting this application does not guarantee an engagement.
