Ready for a career glow up? As a Human Resources Generalist, Retail, you’ll serve as a trusted HR partner supporting retail teams across multiple regions. The work you do will impact the employee experience and business outcomes, as you provide guidance on HR operations, compliance, and employee relations while ensuring consistency and excellence in service delivery. You’ll be part of a collaborative Human Resources team that is passionate about supporting employees, leaders, and the overall success of Sephora’s retail organization. This is a remote, market based position requiring the candidate to reside in the Northeast/NYC Metro region. 

What You’ll Do

• Deliver HR Operational Support: Serve as a primary point of contact for HR inquiries, manage unemployment claims, support leave of absence and accommodation processes (including FMLA and ADA), and handle escalated background screening cases.
• Manage HR Data & Insights: Generate, maintain, and analyze HR reports and dashboards related to leave administration, employee classification, and key workforce metrics to support informed decision-making.
• Support Talent & Compliance Initiatives: Partner on cyclical HR programs, support training efforts, ensure accurate employee classification, and uphold compliance with employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices.
• Contribute to Projects & Continuous Improvement: Lead and support internal HR projects and initiatives that enhance processes, improve the employee experience, and align with organizational goals.
• Promote a Positive Employee Experience: Act as a trusted resource to employees and leaders, helping navigate complex situations with professionalism, integrity, and a focus on inclusion and fairness.

What You’ll Bring

• HR Experience: 3+ years of experience in Human Resources or a related field (retail leadership experience considered).
• Leave & Compliance Expertise: Experience supporting FMLA, ADA, and leave administration, with knowledge of employment law and regulatory compliance.
• Strong Communication & Organization: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Problem Solving & Adaptability: Ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt quickly to changing priorities, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaboration & Client Focus: Demonstrated ability to build relationships, collaborate effectively, and provide high-quality customer service.
• Integrity & Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism, discretion, and strong ethical judgment.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred

What You’ll Get: 

The annual base salary range for this position is $95,000.00 - $113,000.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses. This job will be posted for a minimum of five days.
