About the Role:
Coney Island Homecare is seeking a compassionate and experienced Hospice Medical Director to join our dedicated teams in Billings and Bozeman, MT. Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical oversight and medical leadership for the hospice program in alignment with regulatory and organizational standards
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (IDT) to develop and review individualized patient care plans
- Certify and re-certify patient eligibility for hospice services in accordance with Medicare/Medicaid guidelines
- Serve as a clinical resource and consultant for attending physicians, nurses, and care team members
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local hospice regulations and standards of care
- Minimal time requirements for this role - up to 4 hours every 2 weeks. Includes approval of admissions, acknowledgement of times for end of life, and approving orders during bi-weekly IDT meetings via Teams.
Requirements:
- Active and unrestricted MD or DO license in the state of Montana
- Board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine (ABHPM) preferred or willing to obtain
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in hospice, palliative care, or related clinical setting
- Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid hospice conditions of participation
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary team collaboration skills
- Demonstrated compassion and commitment to patient-centered, end-of-life care
- Valid DEA certification and ability to prescribe medications as required
