Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Health Care Appointment Scheduler Specialist to join the world-renowned team at Cleveland Clinic. As a key member of our call centre, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, embodying the principles of cooperation, compassion, and innovation that have defined our organisation since its founding in 1921. Cleveland Clinic is a not-for-profit, multispecialty academic medical centre that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education, consistently ranked as one of the top hospitals in the United States.

This is a full-time position with the flexibility of working either day or night shifts. This role is open to candidates residing in Ohio or Pennsylvania, United States. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless and positive patient experience from the very first interaction.

The offered compensation for this role is between $28 - $42 USD per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

 

  • Professionally manage high-volume inbound and outbound calls to schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments across various clinical specialities.
  • Accurately capture and update patient demographic, insurance, and medical information in our electronic record systems.
  • Provide patients with essential information regarding their appointments, including preparation instructions, clinic locations, and necessary documentation.
  • Liaise effectively with clinical staff and different departments to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
  • Address patient enquiries and resolve scheduling conflicts with empathy, patience, and a commitment to service excellence.
  • Maintain strict adherence to data protection and patient confidentiality regulations.
  • Utilise multiple IT systems simultaneously to manage patient information and scheduling requests.

Qualifications

 

  • Previous experience in a customer service, call centre, or administrative role, preferably within a healthcare setting.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a professional and compassionate telephone manner.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and the ability to learn new software and scheduling platforms quickly.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A resilient and positive attitude, with a genuine desire to help people.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
