We are seeking Greek Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Greek is an important European language often requested in immigration, asylum, and naturalization cases.
Responsibilities
- Provide real-time Greek ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.
- Deliver services with accuracy, neutrality, and professionalism.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with USCIS/DHS interpreter standards.
- Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge calls.
- Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance reviews.
Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in Greek and English.
- 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, community, or government preferred).
- Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.
- Strong telephone communication skills and ability to remain accurate under pressure.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance.
