What You’ll Do…
Key Responsibilities & Expected Outcomes
Assistin designing and delivering graphics for print and digital media including publications, signage, web content, social media, infographics, presentations, course materials, and motion graphics.
Use specialized software to create high-quality illustrations, technical drawings, visualizations, and animations supporting training curriculum and TA-related content.
Support video/audio capture, editing, and multimedia preparation using specialized hardware and software.
Incorporate layout design principles consistently across courseware and program materials.
Assistwith quality control reviews and revisions for all graphic outputs to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with DOE/CMEI standards.
Collaborate with writers, engineers, analysts, and SMEs to ensure graphics align with technical and program requirements.
Prepare drafts, templates, mockups, and visual assets under senior staff supervision.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities for Success
Foundational skills using graphic design, layout, and multimedia production software (Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, or similar).
Ability to create clean, visually appealing graphics and layouts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Early-careerexperience designing content for digital or print media (internships or coursework acceptable).
Basic understanding of motion graphics, video editing, or audio editing tools.
Strong communicationand collaboration skills when working with multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiencywith Microsoft Office Suite; willingness to learn DOE systems such as STRIPES, FAST, PAGE, and PMC.
Commitment to quality, attention to detail, and alignment with STI Federal’s core values.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: BA/BS degree.
Experience:
Up to 3 years of relevant experience.
Supports senior designers and performs functional duties under oversight.
Clearance: Ability to obtain and/ormaintaina federal clearance up to Top Secret/DOE Q clearance levels.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience:
Exposure to DOE programs, federal energy initiatives, or technical subjectmatterthrough coursework or early professional experience.
Experience designing graphics related to energy systems, critical minerals, manufacturing, environmental programs, or applied technology topics.
Familiarity with training curriculum design or multimedia assets used in federal TA environments.
Understanding of IIJA-funded program communication needs, stakeholder engagement, and TA workflows.
Ability to turn complex technical concepts into clear, visually intuitive graphics for states, Tribes, local governments, nonprofits, and private-sector recipients.
Work Environment
Environment: Work will be performed in a climate-controlled office, remotely or possibly on client sites as needed.
