The Graphic Designer creates high-quality visual assets for digital and print platforms to elevate the American Cancer Society brand. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce performance-driven creative for paid media and integrated campaigns.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Designs engaging visual assets across digital platforms (social, web, video, display) and select print formats (posters, flyers, signage), ensuring all deliverables are audience‑focused, on strategy, and unmistakably on brand. Leverages deep knowledge of the paid social space to create thumb‑stopping, platform‑specific creative optimized for performance and brand recognition. (35%)
Produces final deliverables across formats, including HTML5 ads, animated graphics, social content, and print‑ready files—preparing assets to meet technical specifications, platform requirements, and best practices for paid and organic environments. (20%)
Develops creative concepts in collaboration with art directors, copywriters, and cross‑functional partners, contributing innovative ideas that support integrated campaigns, brand storytelling, and high‑performing paid media executions. (20%)
Ensures all design work meets project requirements—on time, on brief, on budget, and aligned to brand standards, accessibility best practices, and performance considerations. (10%)
Maintains a cohesive brand identity across digital and print channels, strengthening consistency, visual recognition, and creative effectiveness across both organic and paid content. (10%)
Manages multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and deadlines while adapting to feedback, data‑driven insights, and evolving creative direction. (5%)
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 3–5 years of professional design experience with a strong emphasis on digital media. Experience in an agency or in-house creative team is preferred, and a portfolio demonstrating multi-channel execution is required.
Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Media, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
Preferred Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or Digital Media with coursework in multimedia/interactive design.
Certificate(s) or License(s): None required; certification in Adobe Creative Suite, UX/UI, HTML proficiency.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects) and Figma or similar digital design tools.
Working knowledge of HTML5 and production for digital deliverables (banner ads, social animations, responsive assets).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
Strong design sense with the ability to create visually compelling layouts, typography, and graphics across digital and print.
Ability to interpret creative briefs and translate concepts into engaging visuals.
Strong time-management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with art directors, copywriters, project managers, and other stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with the ability to deliver pixel-perfect and print-ready files.
Curious and solutions-oriented mindset, with strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to design challenges.
Ability to give and receive feedback in a respectful, proactive way that strengthens both the work and team culture.
A portfolio that demonstrates:
Strong design and understanding of how to elevate a brand
Strong visual storytelling
Clear understanding of well performing paid social static design
Integrated visual brand storytelling across channels
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequently sits for extended periods while working at a computer.
Regular use of hands and fingers to operate a computer and design tools.
Occasionally required to stand, walk, or lift items weighing up to 15 pounds (e.g., print materials, signage, event coverage).
Vision abilities include close vision for detailed design work and ability to adjust focus.
The starting rate is $55,000 to $65,000 annual. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
