Job Description: 

We are seeking a part-time Graphic Designer (up to 250 hours per year) to design and implement accessible, visually appealing, and user-friendly interfaces for VA OAA Data Management Center (DMC) applications and platforms. 

In this role, you will create user-centered designs using Bootstrap, jQuery, and centralized CSS files, collaborate with front-end and back-end developers to integrate designs within the .NET Core C# and Power Platform environment, and ensure all designs meet Section 508 compliance standards. 

Responsibilities:

▪ Design and implement accessible, visually appealing, and user-friendly interfaces for applications and platforms
▪ Create visually compelling, user-centered designs using Bootstrap, jQuery, and centralized CSS files
▪ Collaborate with front-end and back-end developers to integrate designs within the .NET Core, C#, and Power Platform environment
▪ Ensure all new and modified designs comply with Section 508 accessibility standards
▪ Maintain visual and functional consistency across applications and reports
▪ Support formal usability testing activities under Task 5, as directed by the COR

Minimum Qualifications:

▪ Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field; no equivalencies accepted
▪ 4+ years of graphic design experience focused on user-centered design and accessibility
▪ Proficiency in Bootstrap, jQuery, centralized CSS files, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator
▪ Experience collaborating with development teams to integrate designs into technical environments

Preferred Qualifications:

▪ Section 508 compliance certification or training

Eligibility:

▪ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
▪ Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal Public Trust clearance for this role

Compensation:

Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements. The proposed salary range for this position is outlined below.

Salary Range: $45-$65/hr (part-time up to 250 hrs/yr)
