Purpose:
The Marketing Technology Technical Lead (aka Global Lead Engineer) is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving the organization's Marketing Technology (MarTech) architecture and technical ecosystem, ensuring scalability, security, operational excellence, and alignment with business objectives across multiple markets.
The role serves as the technical authority for Adobe Campaign Classic, Google Marketing Platform, and related marketing and customer engagement technologies within Mashreq Retail Banking Group; and provides architectural leadership across customer data, campaign orchestration, analytics, integrations, and activation capabilities. Working closely with Marketing, Data, Analytics, Technology, Security, Compliance, and external partners.
The Marketing Technology Technical Lead translates business requirements into scalable technical solutions, establishes engineering standards and governance, and leads the successful delivery of MarTech initiatives. The role combines strategic architecture ownership with hands-on technical expertise, including solution design, integration oversight, code review, troubleshooting, and development support where required.
The position is accountable for ensuring that the MarTech landscape remains future-ready, globally scalable, operationally resilient, and capable of supporting the organization's customer engagement, personalization, and digital transformation ambitions.

- MarTech Architecture & Technology Strategy: Establish and maintain a scalable, secure, and future-proof MarTech architecture aligned with business and customer engagement objectives.

- Define and maintain the MarTech target architecture, technology roadmap, and integration strategy.
- Drive architecture decisions, platform evolution, and technical standards across the MarTech ecosystem.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, platform capabilities, and build-vs.-buy options.

- Technical Platform Ownership & Technical Leadership: Ensure stable, efficient, and high-performing operation of Adobe Campaign Classic, Google Marketing Platform, and associated MarTech platforms.

- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of critical platform incidents and performance issues.

- Solution Design & Engineering Excellence: Deliver robust, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions that support business requirements and marketing technology journeys.

- Produce and maintain architecture diagrams, integration designs, data models, data flow documentation and solution design documents.
- Lead technical design reviews and ensure adherence to architectural standards.

Review and validate workflows, schemas, integrations, custom code, and technical deliverables.
- Data, Integration & Customer Technology Ecosystem: Ensure seamless integration and reliable data exchange across the MarTech ecosystem.

Required Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in Digital Banking or Digital Transformation programs.
- 7+ years of experience in MarTech, CRM, CDP, customer engagement, and digital marketing technologies, delivering large-scale enterprise programs.
- Demonstrable hands-on technical experience with Adobe Campaign, Salesforce Marketing Cloud or equivalent enterprise marketing automation and digital analytics platforms.
- Proven experience defining and executing MarTech technology strategies and roadmaps aligned with business objectives, security, compliance, and operational requirements.
- Strong expertise in MarTech platform evaluation, technology selection, build-vs-buy assessments, and ecosystem optimization.
- Hands-on experience designing scalable, enterprise-grade architectures and integrating MarTech platforms with customer data, analytics, digital channels and core business systems.
- Strong technical and engineering background with hands-on experience in:
- SQL and data modelling
- JavaScript and scripting
- API integrations (REST/SOAP)
- ETL, data pipelines, and workflow orchestration
- XML and ACC/XTK developments
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure)
- Data warehousing and customer data platforms
- Event-driven architectures and real-time integrations
- Serverless and cloud-native integration services
- Proven ability to design and communicate solution architectures, integration patterns, data flows, and technical blueprints to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience managing the technical operation of enterprise MarTech platforms, including release management, environment management, monitoring, performance optimization and incident resolution.
- Strong understanding of architecture governance, security controls, and best practices across the MarTech ecosystem.
- Experience leading engineers, development teams, system integrators, and technology vendors to deliver complex technology solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across Marketing, Data, Analytics, Technology, Security, Compliance, and Business functions.
- Experience delivering regional or global MarTech programs while balancing local market requirements with enterprise standards and scalability objectives.
- Good understanding of customer data management, privacy regulations, consent management, and information security principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate technology investments, identify optimization opportunities, and drive measurable business value.
