The Agency Fund is a nonprofit innovation lab working to expand human agency — people's ability to make and act on meaningful choices.

We combine the agility of a startup with the reach of a global network, building projects at the intersection of technology, AI, and social science. Our small, distributed team brings together engineers, designers, researchers, and strategists who care deeply about using technology for human good. We've partnered with 200+ organizations worldwide, reaching millions annually through digital tools, behavioral insights, and scalable interventions. We value curiosity, autonomy, and collaboration — and we operate more like a mission-driven startup than a traditional NGO.

If you're excited about expanding human agency through AI, behavioral science, or technology and you think you could contribute to what we're building, we'd love to stay in touch. We're especially curious about people with backgrounds in:

• Software engineering and AI/ML

• Research, behavioral science, or development economics

• Product design and UX

• People operations, finance, or internal systems

• Communications, content, or strategic partnerships

• Program management and operational execution

Who you are:

• You're drawn to mission-driven work and care about real-world impact, not just interesting problems

• You're comfortable with ambiguity and thrive in small, entrepreneurial environments

• You take initiative, work autonomously, and don't need a lot of hand-holding to get things done

• You're a clear communicator and can work across a globally distributed team

• You're humble, curious, and eager to keep learning

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience working remotely and across time zones

• Familiarity with global development, public health, or behavioral interventions

• Prior experience at a startup, nonprofit innovation lab, or research organization
