About Us
Creative Edge, Inc. — operating in part as NeigerDesign, A Creative Edge Company — is a full-service marketing and creative agency with offices in Cape Girardeau, MO, St. Louis, MO, and Evanston, IL and a distributed team. We work across branding & design, digital marketing, video production, and web services for clients ranging from local small businesses to large healthcare non-profits to national trade associations. As our workload grows, we're building a trusted bench of freelance specialists to plug into project teams alongside our in-house staff.

The Role
We're building a bench of content writers who can flex across tone, format, and industry — our client roster spans agriculture, banking, real estate, nonprofit, and trade associations, so no two projects sound the same. You'll work from creative briefs and brand voice guidelines to produce copy that's ready for client review with minimal rework.

What You'll Do

• Write website copy, blog posts, email campaigns, and social captions across a range of client voices.
• Draft long-form materials including white papers, case studies, and proposal content.
• Turn stakeholder interviews or raw notes into polished summary documents.
• Adapt tone and reading level for B2B, healthcare, nonprofit, and consumer-facing audiences.
• Collaborate with designers and strategists to align copy with layout and campaign goals.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of professional writing experience — agency, in-house marketing, or journalism background all welcome.
• Writing samples showing range across at least two industries or tones.
• Strong grasp of grammar, structure, and self-editing — we expect clean first drafts.
• Comfortable taking detailed feedback and revising quickly.
• SEO fundamentals a plus, not required.

Engagement Details

• Contract structure: project-based Statement of Work (SOW) under a standing Master Service Agreement — not W-2 employment.
• Location: remote-friendly; candidates near St. Louis, MO or the Chicago metro area are a plus for occasional in-person work.
• Rate: dependent on experience and project scope; quoted per project or hourly depending on the engagement.
• Onboarding: scoped access to project tools (Teamwork), brand guidelines, and a single internal point of contact for each project.
• Assignments range from single blog posts to ongoing monthly content batches.
