We’re looking for Independent Assessors to join us in assessing the Level 3 Information Communications Technician (ICT) Apprenticeship Standard. 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need solid experience in the sector at occupational level 3 or above within the last three years, or substantial, proven expertise that shows you really know your craft. 


Assessments are carried out primarily remotely, via video calling. It can be done from anywhere in the UK as long as you have a computer, webcam and strong internet connection. The assessments include a project with questioning and a professional discussion based on a portfolio of evidence.

Your responsibilities will cover…

 

  • Marking submitted evidence using a defined assessment plan and grading criteria
  • Awarding marks using a defined assessment plan and marking criteria
  • Making sound judgements about the standard of the apprentice’s knowledge and competence
  • Providing robust feedback to the apprentice and arriving at an overall grade
  • Attending standardisation meetings twice annually
  • Working as part of the 1st for Awarding assessment team
  • Maintaining your own professional development.

 

We’re looking for people who have… 

Essential:


  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in sector
  • Highly organised
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Able to plan your own schedule and commit to agreed times/bookings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to attend two standardisation activities per year


Desirable:


  • Experience working as an End Point Assessor, Independent Assessor, coach or tutor
  • Grading experience
  • A good understanding of apprenticeship standards and EPA
  • Prevent and safeguarding training
  • Assessor qualifications (e.g. CAVA, TAQA, Award in Undertaking EPA, A1)
