FOIA Analyst (Jr)

TechOp Solutions is seeking a FOIA Analyst to  support the review and processing of routine and moderately complex FOIA requests. The analyst will identify responsive records, recommend redactions, draft correspondence, update case files, and help prepare accurate records-release packages. 

Duties:

• Review assigned FOIA requests and identify potentially responsive records.  
• Process routine, open, and backlogged FOIA cases in accordance with internal procedures.  
•  Review documents for responsiveness, duplication, sensitivity, and potentially exempt information.  
• Recommend redactions and withholding determinations under the guidance of senior FOIA personnel.  
•  Use approved redaction software to box exempt material, sanitize records, and prepare files for release.  
• Draft standard correspondence using approved FOIA templates.  
•  Upload records, correspondence, case notes, and supporting documentation into case management system.  
• Coordinate with team members, records custodians, and program contacts to obtain required information.  
• Track assigned cases, deadlines, document volumes, and case-processing activities 
• Performs additional duties as assigned. 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree 
• 2+ years s of relevant FOIA  experience. 
• General knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act, Privacy Act, and federal records-disclosure requirements.  
• Experience reviewing documents and handling sensitive or personally identifiable information.  
• Strong attention to detail, writing, research, data-entry, and organizational skills. 
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance
