Location: Remote (with quarterly travel to Fort Belvoir, VA) Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior DoD Program Financial Management Analyst to provide subject matter expertise (SME) in support of curriculum development for the Defense Acquisition University (DAU). The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience supporting ACAT I or II program offices with budget development and execution and possess deep knowledge of current and emerging DoD Financial Management best practices, regulations, and policies. This position requires the ability to research, analyze, and translate complex DoD financial topics into learning content for courses and credentials that support defense acquisition professionals. The selected candidate will play a critical role in shaping, reviewing, and maintaining a minimum of four DAU courses annually. Essential Functions: Curriculum Subject Matter Expertise Serve as a primary technical resource for DAU financial management-related curriculum. Provide strategic input during course planning, design, and execution phases. Translate complex DoD financial topics into effective adult learning content. Learning Product Development Guide the creation and refinement of Initial Design Strategies (IDS) and Performance Objectives. Design interactive components (e.g., exercises, case studies, assessments) for financial training modules. Collaborate on course storyboards that reflect realistic program management scenarios. Content Review & Accuracy Assurance Conduct comprehensive reviews of DAU learning assets to ensure policy compliance and accuracy. Update materials in response to changing DoD regulations and emerging financial management practices. Recommend integration of vetted commercial training assets into DAU courseware. Evaluation & Certification Support Develop and validate Terminal Learning Objectives (TLOs) and Enabling Learning Objectives (ELOs). Build question banks and assessments aligned with credentialing criteria. Review learner feedback and assessment results to inform future curriculum updates. Virtual & On-Site Collaboration Engage in daily synchronous collaboration with remote team members (0800–1500 EST). Attend quarterly 3-day planning and review sessions at Fort Belvoir, VA. Provide real-time support for content reviews, feedback cycles, and training workshops. Instructional Design Integration Apply best practices in adult learning and instructional systems design to financial curriculum. Collaborate with instructional designers, media developers, and other SMEs. QualificationsRequired Qualifications: Must be a U.S. Citizen BS or BA degree Minimum 10 years of experience in DoD Program Financial Management, with a focus on ACAT I or II program offices. In-depth knowledge of DoD financial regulations, budget execution, and emerging best practices in defense financial management. Demonstrated experience with learning content development, including instructional design principles and adult learning strategies. Experience working with cross-functional teams in the design and delivery of technical training. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant collaboration tools (e.g., MS Teams, SharePoint). Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience supporting DAU course development or similar educational institutions. Familiarity with DoD Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodologies. Certification in DoD Financial Management, Acquisition, or Instructional Design. Experience with e-learning platforms and SCORM-compliant content development tools. Work Environment and Schedule: Remote position with required daily virtual presence during core hours. Must be available for quarterly travel to Fort Belvoir, VA for in-person collaboration. Must be responsive to rapid turnaround times and iterative review cycles.
