About WBA
The World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA) is an independent, non-profit organisation that measures how the most influential companies in the world impact people and planet. Our research is freely available so that, together, we can hold companies accountable for contributing to sustainable development. Our benchmarks and methodologies serve as a roadmap for companies to understand the changes they need to make to put our planet, society, and the economy on a more sustainable path. We support our Allies, UN agencies, governments, and other stakeholders in the broader corporate accountability ecosystem to understand how they can establish clear consequences for corporate inaction.
WBA is a Teal-inspired organisation, intentionally shaping a distinctive organisational culture. Drawing on principles of Teal, Regenerative Leadership, and other inspirational leadership models. We are building a workplace where collaboration, trust, and personal growth are prioritised alongside high performance. We are committed to ongoing cultural evolution and seek candidates who are excited to contribute to an environment where both our results and our people continually improve.
Why This Role Matters
Banks, investors and insurers shape the transition of real economy companies through their financing and investment decisions. These decisions influence how companies respond to sustainability challenges that affect long-term business performance, as well as people and the planet. WBA's data and insights are already widely used by financial institutions to inform these decisions. However, WBA's assessments of financial institutions, published in May 2026, show that while there are encouraging signs of early progress, the finance sector has yet to make a systematic shift towards developing and implementing credible transition plans of its own.
By leveraging WBA's data, insights and expertise, this role will enable WBA to identify strategic opportunities and build key relationships to create stronger incentives and clearer market signals that encourage financial institutions to develop and implement credible transition plans, ultimately accelerating the transition to a more sustainable economy.
