Position Summary

We're looking for a mission-aligned Family Support Specialist to bring the power of lived caregiver experience to the center of our care model. As a Tennessee Certified Family Support Specialist (CFSS), or someone on the path to certification, you'll partner with caregivers of youth facing emotional, behavioral, mental health, substance use, or developmental challenges, offering encouragement, building trust, and helping them navigate the systems that stand between their family and lasting wellness. Your lived experience as a caregiver will be a powerful asset in building authentic, hope-filled relationships with families navigating complex health, behavioral, and social challenges.

Schedule & Location

This is a full-time, remote position, Monday through Friday. Some evening availability may be needed to accommodate client needs across time zones.

What You'll Do

• Partner with caregivers as a peer. Use your lived experience raising a young person through the system to build trust, offer hope, and be the reliable person who answers.
• Drive family engagement in the program. Help families get started, keep appointments, and use the Holon Vibe app—the daily check-ins, the caregiver lesson track, and the engagement rewards—so the family stays active between visits.
• Reinforce the caregiver curriculum. Model and support the communication and problem-solving skills the program teaches, helping the family build the shared language the Youth & Caregivers model is built on.
• Navigate and advocate across systems. Help caregivers work with schools, courts, child welfare, community resources, and their young person's existing behavioral-health providers—and teach them to advocate for themselves.
• Build the family's support network and goals. Help caregivers identify natural supports and set family goals that fit into the care plan.
• Coordinate with the Holon care team. Keep the primary care provider and case manager in the loop, flag concerns early, and keep the family at the center of the plan.
• Document engagement (non-clinical). Record participation and progress in the platform, and uphold guardian consent, youth privacy, and Holon's compliance rules (voluntary participation; engagement-based rewards; no inducements).

Requirements

What You Bring to the Table

• Lived experience as a caregiver. You are, or have been, the biological, adoptive, foster, or authorized relative caregiver of a child or youth with emotional, behavioral, mental health, substance use, or developmental challenges, and have navigated child-serving systems on their behalf.
• 18 or older, with a high school diploma or GED.
• Tennessee Certified Family Support Specialist (CFSS), held, or eligibility and willingness to obtain within [12] months of hire. Per TDMHSAS, the path includes completing an approved evidence-based family education program (e.g., NAMI Family-to-Family or TN Voices Parent-2-Parent), =90 days of role experience, and the Family Support Specialist Competency Training within 365 days. A National Federation of Families Certified Family Peer Specialist (CFPS) credential is accepted as equivalent.
• At least 12 months (within the past 10 years) of paid or volunteer experience supporting families or navigating child-serving systems.
• Willingness to work under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional (required to earn and maintain the CFSS).
• Comfort with technology: telehealth, a smartphone app (the Holon Vibe app), and basic digital documentation.
• Tennessee residency, reliable transportation, and the ability to make occasional community or field visits.
• Ability to pass the background checks required to work with minors and families.
• Strong boundaries, cultural humility, and a deep commitment to family voice and choice.

Education & Experience

• CFSS already certified; NAMI Family-to-Family or Parent-2-Parent completed.
• Experience with juvenile justice, child welfare, truancy/school, or youth behavioral-health systems, a strong plus for the Memphis / Shelby County youth work.
• Familiarity with engagement or contingency-management models.
• Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
