Family Outpatient Clinician (Temporary Full-Time)Remote - Must Reside in CT, NY, or NJ


About the Position:


Families play an essential role in the recovery process—and they need support, guidance, and a place to heal, too.

Mountainside is seeking a Family Outpatient Clinician to provide compassionate, evidence-based clinical services to individuals and families impacted by substance use disorders. In this role, you’ll work closely with clients and their loved ones to better understand the impact of addiction, strengthen relationships, establish healthy boundaries, and develop the tools needed to support sustainable recovery.


As part of a multidisciplinary treatment team, you’ll provide individual, group, and family therapy while helping clients develop practical strategies for communication, self-care, and navigating the challenges that can arise throughout the recovery journey. You’ll also collaborate with external providers and community resources to ensure continuity of care and a coordinated treatment experience.


This is an opportunity for a clinician who is comfortable working with family systems, values collaboration, and is passionate about helping families move from crisis and uncertainty toward greater understanding, connection, and wellness.


The anticipated duration of this temporary position is approximately 3–6 months.


Schedule:

Monday 9:00 AM to 5:30PM

Tuesday: 11:00AM to 7:30PM

Wednesday: 11:30PM to 8:00PM

Thursday: 9:00AM to 5:30PM

Friday: 8:00AM to 4:30PM



Your Role:

 

As a Family Outpatient Clinician, you will:

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy to clients and loved ones impacted by substance use disorders.
  • Facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational groups focused on addiction, family dynamics, healthy boundaries, communication, self-care, and recovery.
  • Complete comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, including intake evaluations and ongoing clinical assessments.
  • Review prescreening information, prior treatment records, discharge summaries, and other available clinical information to support appropriate treatment planning and level-of-care recommendations.
  • Develop individualized, collaborative wellness and treatment plans using appropriate screening and assessment tools, stage-wise interventions, and evidence-based treatment approaches.
  • Establish SMART goals that are measurable, clinically appropriate, and achievable.
  • Provide ongoing assessment and clinical interventions based on each client's evolving needs, progress, and stage of recovery.
  • Collaborate with family members, external providers, referral sources, community resources, and the interdisciplinary treatment team to coordinate care and support continuity of services.
  • Provide psychoeducation that helps clients and families develop a greater understanding of substance use disorders and the recovery process.
  • Support clients and families in developing healthy boundaries, effective communication strategies, coping skills, and sustainable self-care practices.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation in the electronic medical record, consistent with agency, regulatory, and accreditation standards. Documentation must be completed the same day services are provided.
  • Model and reinforce healthy, pro-social behaviors and recovery-oriented practices, including appropriate communication, time management, interpersonal boundaries, and engagement with recovery supports.
  • Participate in individual and group clinical supervision and utilize supervision to strengthen clinical practice.
  • Complete required trainings and participate in opportunities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Provide in-service education and training as assigned.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, as well as accreditation and organizational standards.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate Degree in related field 
  • Current licensure as an LMFT/MFT-LP, LMHC/MHC-LP, LCSW/LMSW, or LPC/LPC-A in at least one of the states in which telehealth services are provided (CT or NY) is required.
  • Active licensure in both Connecticut and New York is preferred.
  • Will obtain the appropriate licensure for any future states that Mountainside will be able to provide telehealth services.  
  • Minimum two years’ experience/knowledge in substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders integrated treatment required.  
  • Minimum two years’ experience facilitating family therapy preferred.
  • Previous experience working in an Outpatient setting preferred. 

Compensation:


The base rate of pay for this position is  $32.00 to $40.00 per hour. Actual pay is determined based on a number of job-related factors including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, performance, and working conditions.
