The writer will help transform internal expertise, customer outcomes, operational data, webinar content, and industry research into compelling resources that drive credibility, organic visibility, and AI discoverability.

Profile overview

We are seeking an experienced B2B writer with expertise in facilities operations, facility management, maintenance, custodial operations, educational facilities, workplace operations, or related operational technology sectors.

This writer will create research-intensive content, including white papers, industry and benchmark reports, resource guides, and other long-form thought leadership content.

The ideal candidate understands how to balance AI-assisted workflows with rigorous research, fact-checking, and SME-driven thought leadership.

Scope

Duration: 2 major thought leadership pieces by the end of the year
Commitment: 100 hours
Location Preference: Remote, US-Based Timezone

Key Responsibilities

  • Create research-driven white papers, industry reports, thought leadership articles, resource guides, and supporting blog content focused on facilities operations, custodial management, maintenance, and operational technology.
  • Conduct primary and secondary research, analyze industry data, and synthesize findings into compelling, actionable content for facilities leaders and decision-makers.
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to capture proprietary insights, conduct interviews, and translate technical concepts into accessible content.
  • Utilize AI tools to support research, outlining, drafting, and content optimization while independently validating facts, sources, and claims.
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand voice, demonstrates industry expertise, and supports organic search visibility, thought leadership, and AI discoverability initiatives.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to develop content that reinforces the company’s reputation as a trusted authority in facilities and operations management.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional B2B content writing experience
  • Experience creating white papers, reports, or research-based content
  • Strong research and source validation skills
  • Ability to interview SMEs and synthesize expertise
  • Exceptional long-form writing and storytelling ability
  • Highly collaborative and curious
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted content workflows
  • Experience writing for technical or operational audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in facilities management and operations (not corporate real estate)
  • Experience interpreting operational datasets
  • Survey or report-writing experience
  • Webinar content repurposing experience
