Estimator II

Zachry Group is currently looking for talented and self-motivated Estimator to join our Estimating department.  This position can be located in one of our offices in Chicago, Houston, San Antonio, Charlotte, and Omaha or can be remote if the qualified candidate is not local.  This is a great opportunity to get involved in some interesting and challenging design projects for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of routine estimating assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria for assigned phases of a project. 
• Prepare estimate basis documents highlighting the craft scope of work as well as the sources for the quantities, vendor pricing, and productivities. 
• Create and include clarifications detailing their estimate basis when clarity was not provided through proposal documents. 
• Create comparisons between scope for the project being estimated and past projects which have similar scope.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS
•    Ability to use  Cleopatra estimating software on Zachry provided hardware. 
•    Connection to internet is required to perform the work.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•    Aspen Capital Cost Estimator certification.
•    Experience estimating for process, power or nuclear industries.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat, and software systems. Availability for field work and walking down scope to be estimated required. Position will include visits to maintenance sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights using stairs or ladders) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: fire retardant clothing (FRC’s), hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, climbing harness, gloves and steel-toe work boots.
 

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employee will primarily work in an office setting but may occasionally work for short durations in a trailer or building on a customer site. On work sites noise levels will be moderate to high. Job site will contain: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking, bells whistles and alarms.
