Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Engineer to join our dynamic team in the renewable energy sector, specializing in rooftop solar solutions within the Energy and Utilities industry. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in the end-to-end delivery of photovoltaic (PV) solar projects, from initial design and procurement to execution, testing, commissioning, and ongoing quality assurance. This role is critical to ensuring the successful deployment of scalable, safe, and high-performance solar energy systems across commercial and residential rooftops. The Engineer will be responsible for managing technical aspects of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols. With a strong foundation in electrical engineering and hands-on experience in solar energy systems, the candidate will contribute directly to advancing sustainable energy adoption and operational excellence in our growing clean energy portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design, engineering, and implementation of rooftop solar PV systems in alignment with project specifications and client requirements.
  
• Manage full lifecycle EPC projects, including site assessment, system design, procurement, construction supervision, and final handover.
  
• Conduct thorough troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical issues during installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
  
• Perform rigorous testing and commissioning of solar systems, ensuring performance, safety, and compliance with national and international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, IS codes).
  
• Implement and oversee QA/QC processes to maintain project integrity, identify defects, and ensure adherence to technical specifications.
  
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations throughout all project phases.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, procurement, field technicians, and clients to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
  
• Prepare and review technical documentation, as-built drawings, test reports, and commissioning certificates.
  
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and field teams.
  
• Monitor project progress against timelines, budgets, and KPIs, and report key findings to senior management.
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; postgraduate qualification is a plus.
  
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in rooftop solar or PV solar projects within the energy sector.
  
• Proven experience in managing EPC projects from conception to commissioning.
  
• In-depth knowledge of PV solar system design, electrical integration, inverters, mounting structures, and grid interconnection.
  
• Strong proficiency in troubleshooting electrical faults and resolving technical issues in live solar installations.
  
• Demonstrated expertise in testing and commissioning procedures for solar power systems.
  
• Solid understanding of QA/QC frameworks and quality management systems in construction and energy projects.
  
• Familiarity with safety standards, OSHA/IEC/IS codes, and compliance protocols in electrical and solar installations.
  
• Proficient in using CAD tools, project management software (e.g., MS Project), and technical documentation platforms.
  
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in fast-paced, field-based environments.
  
• Willingness to travel to project sites across regions as required.
