Course description: This course examines class distinction and community through the lens of the English country house from 1837 to 1939. Topics include owners, servants, houses, collections, gardens and rituals such as fox hunting. 

Dates of Appointment:  September 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026 

Minimum qualifications:Master of Arts in History or related field required. Mastery of the subject area as related to the course description above required. 

Preferred qualifications:  PhD in History preferred.  Demonstrated evidence of superior undergraduate teaching preferred.  Previous experience teaching a similar course is highly desirable.  

Duties: Grading assignments and exams; consulting with supervisor/students; invigilating final exams; other duties as needed in consultation with instructor. 

Estimated course enrolment: 100
Estimated hours per position: Approximately 106 hours 

Lecture: Friday 9:00-11:00am, (Online Synchronous) 

Rate of Pay: $55.25 per hour plus 4% vacation pay
