Eikon - Software Application Developer (Contingent)

Description

Eikon Research is currently seeking a Software Application Developer to join our team. Preferred work location is Huntsville, Alabama; remote consideration for candidates in Warren, Michigan area.  This job opportunity is contingent upon government funding in the new government fiscal year.

The Eikon Research team is expanding. We are currently hiring for a Full-Stack Software Developer position for the design and development of web-based applications in a variety of domains including government line-of-business, command and control, and unmanned aerial systems. 

The successful candidate will be able to design, develop, and test client-side user interface components as well as server-side services and database functionality. Frontend technologies include JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS and make heavy use of Sencha ExtJS. Backend technologies include PHP, Yii 3 Framework, and Microsoft SQL Server.

Position Description/duties include but not limited to:

• Develop lightweight client- and server-side prototypes as proof-of-concept or foundation for new capabilities
• Create, test, debug, and improve ExtJS-based JavaScript enterprise-level applications in collaboration with other Eikon engineers, customers, and end-users
• Participate in Scrum-influenced development practices including weekly standups, sprint-based task management, and sprint planning
• Utilize tools such as Git, GitKraken, Jira, and Confluence for code management, issue tracking, task planning, and documentation
• Flexibility to assist on other projects at Eikon as needed. This may include development in other languages (C++/C, Java, Rust, Python, MATLAB), participation in software architecture design discussions, documentation, code testing, code reviews, etc. This provides opportunities for cross-training and expanding your skillset and helps fill in gaps across our small company.

Requirements

Minimum Candidate Requirements:

Candidate must be US Citizen

Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree

Candidate must be eligible to obtain/maintain US Secret Security Clearance

Candidate must have 3+ years experience with 2 or more of the following:

• JavaScript: Developing classes, applications, and libraries using modern techniques
• ExtJS: Creating and evolving enterprise-level ExtJS applications 
• PHP: Developing RESTful backend services to support client-side functionality
• Version Control Experience (Git/GitKraken)
• Ability to work in both a group and individual capacity
