We are seeking a Senior ECAD PCB Design Engineer to support advanced defense and aerospace electronics development by designing complex, high-speed printed circuit boards using Xpedition VX, PCB layout best practices, and high-reliability design standards. This role is ideal for an experienced Electrical CAD (ECAD) Designer with expertise in DDR4/DDR5, RF, digital signal processing (DSP), high-speed routing, PCB fabrication, and multi-layer board design supporting mission-critical hardware programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, revise, and maintain complex printed circuit board (PCB) layouts, engineering drawings, and Bills of Material (BOMs) using ECAD software.
  • Design high-speed, high-density PCB layouts supporting digital signal processing (DSP), RF, and mixed-signal electronic systems.
  • Develop PCB layouts that meet electrical, mechanical, manufacturability, and reliability requirements.
  • Perform component placement, signal routing, impedance control, constraint management, and electronic packaging for complex PCB assemblies.
  • Generate manufacturing documentation, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and engineering release packages.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, manufacturing teams, and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Optimize PCB designs for signal integrity, electromagnetic interference (EMI), manufacturability, and high-speed performance.
  • Troubleshoot PCB design data, documentation, configuration, and manufacturing issues with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Support continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance ECAD design quality, efficiency, and product reliability.
  • Independently analyze technical challenges and implement practical design solutions while managing multiple concurrent projects.

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience) plus 8+ years of related experience; OR
  • Master's degree in a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience designing complex printed circuit boards using ECAD design tools.
  • Experience with Siemens Xpedition VX 2.13 or newer.
  • Strong understanding of PCB layout, fabrication processes, assembly documentation, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Experience designing multi-layer PCBs up to 28 layers.
  • Experience with:
    • High-speed digital PCB design
    • Digital Signal Processing (DSP) circuitry
    • High-frequency RF designs
    • Signal integrity
    • High-speed routing techniques
    • EMI/interference mitigation
